179 B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE - BOSTON - WEEK SEPTEMBER 22, 1913. (R. G. Larsen.) F. ARTUSA. 9 minutes f.s. Garden. Hand balancer. Has some very good tricks, and made an acceptable opener. CABARET TRIO. 13 minutes in one. Two singers and a blind pianist in a conventional singing act. The songs did not start much of a riot, but the Turkey Trotting finish got a big hand. GARDNER TRIO. 11 minutes f.s. Palace. Two extremely pretty girls and a young man in one of the best society dancing acts we have ever played. Beautifully dressed, with three changes, and went big at both performances. IRVING NEWHOFF and DODE PHELPS. 13 minutes in two. Special drop. A rather neat little act that went first-rate. MADDEN and FITZPATRICK. 24 minutes f.s. C.D.F. Same big hit as on previous visits here. DUNBAR and TURNER. 16 minutes in one. Street. Went well in this spot. FRITZI SCHEFF. 14 minutes f.s. Palace drawing room interior. Miss Scheff made thoroughly good with us to-day, both from the standpoint of the audience and the box office. Sold out completely at both performances. The act went especially big with the night audience. JOHN T. MURRAY. 12 minutes in one. Olio drop. This young man is a most welcome addition to our standard comedy acts in one. He dressed in pale lavender clothes, cut to emphasize his slender figure, and has a very good line of comedy that got a lot of laughs to-day. Held this hard spot following Miss Scheff in excellent shape, and closed strong with his motion picture film burlesque. CARL EUGENE TROUPE. 7 minutes f.s. Cut Garden. Seven men and two boys doing one of the greatest, if not positively the greatest, acrobatic act we have ever played. Some of the somersaults, performed three and four high, are really sensational. Made a great closing feature to a splendid show. CUTS: Dunbar and Turner - "Woman policeman" gag. "Her husband came home" gag. Madden and Fitzpatrick - "What the Hell." Newhoff and Phelps - "Mush rooms" gag with reference to furnished rooms upstairs. John T. Murray - hoochee couchee movements.
