B. F. KEITH'S HIPPODROME Week of Oct 6th, 1913 Cleveland, Ohio HERBERT'S DOGS - - Garden in 4. 8 minutes. About 20 dogs, large and small in a very clever series of novel tricks concluding with the "loop the loop" which is a feature. Well received. (Youngstown) MOORE & YOUNG- - 10 minutes in one. Two young girls with charming personalities who dance well in eccentric style, making three smart changes of costumes. Very well liked and could make good further down on any bill. (Toledo) WILL OAKLAND & CO - - in a singing novelty "At the Club" 23 minutes in 3. Library. Five young men in evening clothes who render many favorite selections in close harmony manner spirited style. Oakland's yodling a feature. This act was compelled to do two encores in one and is quite the best quintette seen here in years. The hit of the show. (Washington) JULIA NASH & CO --- Two women and one man in a farce comedy playlet "Her First Case". 16 minutes L.F. in 3. An amusing sketch, well acted with Miss Nash as an amateur lawyer who bests an unscrupulous claim-agent and rescues herself and companion from a financial difficulty. A very strong finish. (Washington) CHRIS RICHARDS - The Eccentric English Chap. 10 minutes in one. Olio. As usual this man makes a decided hit with the audience although his comedy is of the slow, English kind. His hat manipulations are unusual and his equal is seldom seen in eccentric acrobatic dancing. (Columbus) SAM MAN & CO - - "The New Leader". 4 men and 3 women. Full stage. 28 minutes. Seen here before but bears repetition admirably. Mann's droll, quiet exasperating German orchestra leader is a bit of character acting out of the ordinary and is artistically done. A well written story, woven into the hilarity, helps get the sketch over big. (Open) LEWIS & DODY - - "The Two Sams. Character Vocalists. Hebrew and Italian. 16 minutes in one. Street. these two men have a novel act, sing well and have some clever parodies, but the act is rather coarse and broad for our audience and just got by and that's all at both shows. Their methods suggest burlesque and would get a better hand if they rearranged the sequence of their songs. (Cincinnati) THE HARVEY FAMILY - - Tight wire act. 3 girls and two men. 10 minutes in F.S. Palace. A beautifully dressed act of unusual merit. The Tango and Turkey-Trot dance on the wire by two of the girls holding attention and winning strong applause at the finish. (Chicago) PATHE'S WEEKLY and Special reel of Jack Norworth who appears here next week. NOTE: This is about the best all-around bill of the season, although no big names appear. The show gets a good start with Moore & Young and holds up all the way down to the pictures.
