7 NEW YORK SHOW: WEEK SEPTEMBER 22nd: STEREOPTICON:- Usual collection of views. 10 minutes in one. NH-3, MILLER & KRESKOT:-Two men made up as mulattos, neatly dressed and do a singing, dancing and talking act. Their singing and dancing are both all right but their talking is weak. They are all right in their place on the bill, 12 minutes in two. SR-3, TRAVELLE"- A juggler and Shadowgraph artist. This is a new performer in this section of country, but he is a very good one. His shadowgraphs proved quite a novelty on account of the fact that we have not had any here in so long. 16 minutes, full stage, closing in one. AR-3, FLORA:- A girl on the wire: This woman gives an imitation of a tough girl walking slack wire and does the old strip act to tights There is nothing especially bad about it, but I think New York and Philadelphia would be about the only houses where she could play as there are rimes when she is a little inclined to be coarse and has to be cut down considerably. 13 minutes: full stage. KR-3, MARTIN & Quigg:- Two men in a sketch which they call "The Long and Short of It". Martin being very tall and Quigg being practically a dward. The act is not especially strong although it went all right here, and can be called a fair act. 15 minutes in one. NH-3, RAYMOND & HART:- Two girls in a singing and dancing specialty. The girls are neatly dressed and rather pretty. They sing nicely and beyond a tendency to be a little too rough, are all right. 8 minutes; full stage. GRR-3, WEBB TRIO:- Two men and a woman in acrobatic work. The senior Webb was originally Webb & Hassan, and of course, in an excellent acrobat. They have a pretty good act, but not quite as finished as it will be after a little more experience together. 7 minutes; full stage. KR-3, LLOYD & WALTONE:- This is a man and a woman in a singing act, and they are both supposed to be Baritones; that is, the man is a baritone and the woman has rather a low contralto voice. The sing pretty well together, but there is not much evidence of cultivation in the voices, however, the audience was not looking for that and they were nicely received. 17 minutes; full stage; can close in one. YHR-2, FOUR CUTTYS:- Two men and two women in a musical act, in which they played a variety of instruments and do a little singing. Act is very nicely dressed and is about as strong a straight musical act as we have played. 19 minutes, open full stage, closing in one. YHR-2, CHAS. E. Grapewin & ANNA CHANCE:- in Grapewin's absurd sketch "The Awakening of Pipp", which went if anything, stronger than before, which means that it was a howl from start to finish. 26 minutes, full stage. GYH-2, MAYME REMINGTON & PICKS:- This has developed into a first-class act of its kind. The girl is a very good singer and she has three good coons, one of them being especially funny on account of the way she is built. 17 minutes in one. MHM-2, MILLY CAPELL:- and her performing horse and hunting dogs. Judging from yesterday's audience this is about the strongest animal act that we have ever imported. The woman is a strikingly pretty girl and the horse is a beauty. She does no riding at all but puts the animal through a lot of high-grade training movements, which he accomplishes with wonderful accuracy and grace. The finish of the act where she and her horse do the march around the stage with the dogs cutting figures 8's between their limbs and the gore and hand limbs of the horse, makes a tremendous hit. I have extended her time on the circuit from four to seven weeks. 10 min; full stage. GHR-2, FIELDS & WARD:- in about the same old act that they have always done, but yet they go as well as they ever did. 21 minutes, in one. YRR-2, PAROS BROS:- European acrobats. An exceptionally good brother act in which the hand and head-balancing are predominating features. 10 minutes; full stage. KR-3, BIOGRAPH:- Fair collection of views. 14 minutes, in one. S. K. HODGDON.
