13 CRITICISM OF 1ST SHOW. PHILADELPHIA. 9/29. Stereopticon-3 shows-11 mins. - Sheet- As usual, interesting.Nesson & Nessen- shows- 11 mins.-garden in four-Club jugglers. Comedy of deformed man very bad. Club juggling, good. Althea Twin Sisters- 2 shows- 6 mins. Garden in two- Singing was a little off, acrobatic work, very good; little careless in dressing. Gaston & Stone-3 shows-18 mins.-C. D.- Just good; their dancing is the only thing that saved the act. Chester B.Johnstone- 3 shows-16 mins. - Garden in four- This young fellow does a very good act, copying xxxxxxxxx xxxxx Ralph Johnstone, but not so good or interesting. Carleton & Terse (?)- 3 shows- 16 mins. - Fancy in one- Very good, deserving a better place on the bill, which I gave them. Lloyd & Waltone- 3 shows- 15 mins. - Water landscape in four- High class singers, very good; appreciated by the audience. Stella Rinehart-3 shows- St. in one-Old time dancing act, one which would be good about fifteen years ago. Cressy & Dayne- 2 shows-21 mins.-Own set-In "A Village Lawyer," and went very good. Gus Williams-2 shows- 18 mins.-Open in one; then to two; close in one- Stories and recitations, very good; songs, little passe. Ten Ichi Troupe-2 shows-27 mins-Own set-Great. He introduced "black art" to-day in addition to his thumb and tie and enchanted fountain tricks, and gave a longer and better act than last week. They have made a big hit here. Biographs-3 shows-11 mins.-Sheet-Very tame; comedy element lacking. Falke & Semon-2 shows-23 mins.-C. D.-Very good. Some of their new stuff not as good as their old stuff, yet it is practically a new act. Parros Bros.-2 shows-9 mins.-Garden in four-Head balancers, as good as any in the business. Elizabeth Murray cancelled on account of sickness; La Belle Blanche engaged in her place for to-night and remainder of week. Following is rearrangement of show for to-night and balance of week:
