86 CHASE'S EMPIRE THEATRE. CLEVELAND, O. WEEK OF DEC. 11st. THE KILTIES. The Gordon Highlanders, a band of forty pieces, gives an hour's varied entertainment consisting of instrumental and vocal music, sword dances, Scottish reels, solos, etc.,, etc. This organization gives a whole show by itself and is going to prove a big drawing card here. HINES & REMINGTON. In, "Miss Patter from Patterson". Have some bright dialogue, and have no trouble in making good. All in one, 25 minutes. JOHN & BERTHA GLEESON. Their singing might be better but their dancing is above the average and the act is very neatly dressed. They are Cleveland people and went very big. 14 minutes in three. CRANE BROS. & BELMONT. In, "The Mudtown Minstrels". The audience appeared to enjoy this "unique" act very much. 18 minutes in one. HAL GODFREY & CO. In, "A Very Bad Boy". This sketch has been seen here before with a better cast but these people do fairly well and held the audience as well as could be expected. 22 minutes, full stage. C. J. Stevenson 86 HOWARD-BOSTON-DEC. 1ST, 02. TWO ALEXANDERS-mand & woman-colored-woman is a very poor dresser and while act is fair they are not as good as the usual colored team. Went frly CUNNINGHAM & LORD-man and woman-good lookers and elegant sing. & Danc. Act. Two FENNELS- man & woman-the woman does most of the work-she is an acrobat- also dancer-the man dances some and sings some-the woman wears some pretty clothes-does some good work-her slippers in toe dance bothered act is o.k. but only went fairly. ROGERS & MARGUERITE-woman & girl-songs and dances-singly and together with change of costume-Act is good-went finely. GORMAN & WEST-man and woman in a sketch with singing-very good-went finly. MARIE ROGERS-sang three songs-went big, although the house got a little "rough" at the end-can sing coon songs finely. LLOYD & WALTONE-man& woman-singing act-went big-An elegant act. HARRY THOMPSON-monologue & imitations of different characters-ordinary act, but went big. Hyde Show, as follows- TOM HERN- supposed comedy juggler-rotten-went same. Nichols Sisters-black face-fair singers -poor stuff-do not dance went poorly Trovolo-ventriloquiest-a good act-went big. BONNIE THORNTON-with an awful cold-sange two songs-went big. FOUR MORTONS-an elegant act-went big. BOYCE & WILSON-TWO MEN black face-song and dance act, fine and went big. PICOLLO'S MIDGETS-four little men-went big. HALL & STALY-same old act-the comedian is funny, act fell flat- not a hand.
