REPORT OF SHOW KEITH'S THEATRE, PROVIDENCE, R. I., JANUARY 12, 1903. (CHARLES LOVENBERG) Show as a whole is very good. Most people think it one of the best we have ever had, others disagree, however, it is strong enough to warrant my feeling that it will draw some money. Howard & Linden. Man and woman in a Dutch comedy sketch. Very poor offering. 15 min. open in three close in one. Belmont & O'Brien. In a sort of travesty act, eccentric in style. Same as they have done before which may be rated as fairly good. 15 min. open in three close in one. Saona. Impersonator of famous. men. Something of a disappointment. Hardly worth the salary he is getting. 12 min. in three. Biograph. Good collection of views. The Four American Trumpeters. Man, woman and two girls. A fairly good music act. Best of the work being the finish on four xylophones. 19 min. open full stage close one. Rapoli. European Juggler, who while very good is, in my mind, considerably over-paid. 22 min. full stage, can do short close in one. Billy Link. Went very well indeed on the night show, surprisingly so considering old material that he works with. Should be rated as a good act however from the audiences standpoint. 12 min. in one. Clay Clement and Company. In "THE BARON'S LOVE STORY." This is one of the finest dramatic sketches and Clement is one of the best actors we ever played. It is not at all hillarious, laughs being gotten in a thoroughly ligitimate manner. His high class German dialect is the finest I ever heard and the act is one which unquestionably makes good with our audience and should do so with any audience of intelligence. 30 min. full stage. John W. Bowker. Illustrated lecture "Contrasta." While quite good is hardly up to his previous offerings. 15 min. in one. Clara Bellerini. Spanish dancer and trapeze artist. Trapeze work being exceedingly good. 12 min. full stage. George C. Davis. Monolguist and mimic. Made a big hit both afternoon and night. 20 min. in one. Edwin Keough & Dorothy Ballard. Transformation scene "A Vaudeville Surprise" introducing proposal scene from "Ingomar". Can't say too much in favor of it. Very fine act indeed. 25 min. can close in one. Carry their own scenery. Sig. Ballerini. & Dogs. Splendid little act and because of its neatness is bound to be most pleasing to the ladies and children. 14 min. full stage, can close in one. Forrester & Floyd. Character singers. Same stuff they have been giving us for many seasons. Should be cut out hereafter. 16 min. in one. Renzetta & Belair. Rather tame offering. Might be classed at best as fair. 10 min. full stage.
