203 REPORT OF PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF MARCH 2nd, 1903. Charles Lovenberg, Manager. The bill as a whole is a very good one. Stereopticon. As usual. El Salto. Contortionist. A young girl who makes a very pretty appearance, has neat apparatus, and does a very clever little act. If necessary could be put on later on the program and make good. 8 M. Full Stage. Ennis & Drew Talking act. While this act is all right here in an early place on the bill, would not advice playing it over the circuit. Smirl & Kessner This is an act after the order of O'Brien & Havel, and, of the two, personally, I prefer this one. The young fellow has a great many very novel and clever acrobatic tricks, and the woman is quite a fair dancer. They finish with the dog doing acrobatic work with the man, same as Ballarini. This act would make good at almost any point on the program. 15 Min. in 3, close in one. La Petite Adelaide Toe Dancer. While she did not make much of a hit here, in fact went off pretty tamely, there is no denying the fact that she is the best artiste in her line we have ever had here. I think that the audience liked her and will talk about her, altho they did not applaud much. 9 M. Full Stage. Biograph O.K. Waterbury Bros. & Tenny. They have made some new additions to their act, which as a whole is most acceptable. Went very strongly both afternoon and evening. 22 M. open in 3, close in 1. Tom Nawn & Co. "One Touch of Nature". This act went fully as strong as "Pat and the Genii". 27 M. Full stage. Herbert & Willing. Blackface singers, dancers and comedians. This is a fairly good act, but hardly strong enough for the place I am obligated to give them on the bill. 15 M. in one. Truly Shattuck. Vocalist. Miss Shattuck has a nice voice, a beautiful face and figure, but somehow did not go very strongly. I hardly consider her worth the salary she is getting. About $50 less would be allright. 10 M. in one. Louis Simon & Co. In "The New Coachman". A great laughing hit. 25 M. in 3. Raymond & Caverly Dutch Comedians. Fully as strong as ever. 18 M. in one. Eretto Family. Hand jumpers & Acrobats. Very good act. 15 M. Full Stage. Lawrence Crane. Magician. Good. 18 M. in one. Kennedy & James. Comedy sketch. At best can only be classed as fairly good. 18 M. open in 3, close in one. Ramza & Arno [P]rotesque novelty acrobatic act, introducing burlesque donkey. Very funny. An especially good small act. 12 M. Full stage.
