211 Chase's Empire. Cleveland, O. WEEK OF MARCH 9th. BROS. MARTINE. Comedy acrobats working on a bounding table. Very good act. 11 minutes, full stage. JACK NOROWRTH, Black face comedian. Both his songs and stories were new to our audience and he created a very favorable impression. 15 minutes in one. THE SEMINARY GIRLS. A well dressed singing and dancing act presented by four girls and three men, all of whom have very good voices, While the sketch is rather unevenly constructed, and some of the comedy could be eliminated, without any detriment, the ensemble work is excellent, and the price considered, it is a very good offering. Carry their own set. 24 minutes, full stage, closing in one. HALLEN & FULLER. In,m "Election Bets". Three people. The sketch went very well and is probably one of the best acts they have ever had. 22 minutes, full stage. LOUISE DRESSER. Singing comedienne. Her burlesque on illustrated songs was highly amusing, and she scored very strongly. 11 minutes in one. VALERIE BERGERE & CO. In, "Jimmie's Experiment". Four people. Miss Bergere's new sketch does not give her the opportunity for strong dramatic work that "Billee's First Love" did. It is more designed to hit general vaudeville audiences. She has the part of an up-to-date athletic girl, vivacious, independent and slangy. She changes from fencing costume to evening gown after a fencing match with her lover, Jimmie. His experiment by disguising himself as a burglar to have her seek a man's protection is successful and is worked out with brisk action including an effective horse race speech and a melodramatic climax. The lines are up-to-date and Miss Bergere is finished and magnetic. Her support is good and she can make the sketch a success. 25 minutes, full stage. STUART BARNES. The laughing hit of the bill. 22 minutes in one. MLLE. WEBB'S PERFORMING SEALS. Animals are all well trained and give a very pleasing performance. Carrys her own set. 16 minutes, full stage.
