C.E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. FEB. 27, 1911 RICK, SULLY & SCOTT. 7 min. F. S. All three men work eccentrics, one Rube, one Dutchman and a Chinaman. Their triple-bar work, and particularly their work on the mat are immense and every one of their feats got strong applause. A splendid opener with abundance of comedy. Closed strong. CHICK SALE. 13 min. in one. This man certainly mad a hit this afternoon as an impersonator of country school children and School Board types. A very unique act. The quick changes were very clever and each one of the characters were strongly individual. Good applause and closed particularly well. KATHLEEN CLIFFORD. 15 min. F. S. Miss Clifford's first selections did not arouse very much enthusiasm, but she improved as she went on, and her male impersonations got the house quite strong. She dresses back of a drop upon which her figure is thrown in silhouette, and introduces some comedy in this part of her act. Has good selection of new and clever songs. Holds the spot in good shape and closed well. HYMAN MEYER. 17 min. in one. As a pianologue artist, this man stands unique. He is not only a very capable instrumentalist, but in the make-up of a German comedian and a good line of dialect patter and imitations, gives a thoroughly entertaining twenty minutes. Was compelled to respond to an encore and closed well. "CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE." 22 min. F. S. Second time this act was presented here with almost an entirely new cast. Held the interest of the audience quite as strong as previously and closed big. MME. ADELAIDE NORWOOD. 12 min. in one. Advance applause. Mme. Norwood opened with two heavy classical selections, including "The Cry of Die Walkure," which received good applause, but her popular numbers, " Come Back to Erin" and a ballad were more in the spirit of the vaudeville audience and received good applause. Mme. Norwood has a voice of great strength and purity of tone. Closed strong with a popular ballad. "THE LEADING LADY." 31 Min. F. S. This is a typical Rolfe act, but with a slight plot, yet with abundance of comedy, some sprightly music and several novelties, such as the picture puzzle portrait, etc. Ralph Lynn is a corking good comedian in the part of the Earl of Lancaster, and Miss Lorenz is a very pretty and vivacious comedienne and a good vocaliste and dancer. The feature is beautifully costumed and there is nothing lacking in the details of the stage setting. Frequent applause and a strong close. THE McGREEVYS. 13 min. in one. This is the best Rube duo ever seen on this stage and a I doubt if there is anything compares with it anywhere. The rube character hits kept the audience in roars of laughter, and at the finish after the break-down dance, the audience was loth to let them go. Held this difficult spot in great shape. CLIFF BERZAC'S CIRCUS. 11 min. F. S. The old reliable which made just as big a hit as ever. KINETOGRAPH. "Darjeeling, India." An interesting travel film. "Max has trouble with his Eyes." A good comedy film. GEN. REM. We advertised this as "The Show of Shows," and after having seen it played, we know of no reason why we should change our opinion. Packed the house, te up every act to the limit, and the McGreevys actually stopped the show.
