HUDSON THEATRE, UNION HILL, N.J. JOHN C. PEEBLES. Week of April 10, 1911. MR. & MRS. STUART DARROW. Shadows, sand and smoke pictures, A standard act that is well and favorably known. Makes a very good opening number and holds the interest of the audience. Full stage. Time 13 min. ETHEL MAC DONOUGH. in "Something New." Miss MacDonough has a very pleasing novelty in the way of a singing act, opening first with a song and introducing a Harem skirts; then she does a number on her xylophone piano; going to a bathing number with a disrobing scene in shadowgraph; closing with her drum number. The harem skirt attracted considerable comment today and may make talk enough in town to draw the women to see it. Her entire act is just a little different from the single acts in vaudeville and should please on any bill. Open in 1, then to 2, close in 1. Time 11 min. FORDYCE TRIO. Featuring Baby Helen. This is the old Yuill & Simpson act with the little one doing a couple of songs. She is the cleverest small child I have ever seen and went very big with today's audience. In fact, the act was the applause hit of the bill. In any town where children can be played this act will be a feature. Olio in 1. Time 14 min. EILEEN ERROL & CO., "The Money Spider." Miss Errol was our second woman in the stock company last summer. She has a very entertaining dramatic sketch which went over in good shape. She has changed her cast since showing the act at the Prospect and the young man she now has does not compare with her former support. C.D.Fcy in 3. Time 18 min. SIX MUSIC SPILLERS. Colored comedians, vocalists and instrumentalists. Make a good appearance and play acceptably on several instruments. Were a terrific hit at both shows today. Fcy in 3. Can close in 1. Time 21 min. SULLEY & HUSSEY. "The Sportsman and Valet." This act flivvered horribly at the matinee this afternoon. Took a chance and holding them in this spot tonight and was agreeably surprised when they registered one of the big hits of the show. Their style of work is different from any other two-man act and ought to register a hit on any bill. One works straight, the other as Hebrew without makeup. Street in 1. Time 18 min. STARRETT'S PONIES AND HORSES. While this is a pleasing act for the women and children think it would do much better opening a show than in the closing position. His animals look well and perform a simple routine of tricks that have been done by nearly every other pony and horse act in the business. Own cyclorama drop in 4. Time 16 min. CUTS. Sully & Hussey, "You know damn well you did" in parody.
