C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. MAY 22, 1911. AERIAL SMITHS. 9 Min. F. S. This is one of the best opening acts we have had. The feats are good, some of them are absolutely new, one or two of them are positively thrilling and the closing hand was big. ELIDA MORRIS. 12 min. in one. Character comedienne. Three changes of costume, offers some new songs that took fairly well. The final song and dance in boy's costume went exceptionally good. Closed strong. HOWARD BROTHERS. 19 min. F. S., close in one. These two young men made a success here before and got good applause for all their work. Make a good appearance and whether with their grand opera selections or banjo-juggling, produce the goods. Closed well. STANLEY & NORTON. 15 min. in one. This is absolutely a distinct hit. Mr. Stanley is full of life and ginger. Miss Norton has a most charming presence, a beautiful voice, singing original selections. The act went well all the way through and closed strong. KALMER & BROWN. 20 min. F.S., close in one. this is certainly one dandy act all the way through from the standpoint of dancing, costuming singing and acrobatic novelty. Big applause for all that they did and closed exceptionally well with an encore in one. Miss Brown certainly makes a very stunning picture in her Scotch costume as well as in her Parisian costume. The finish in one was great. Merited all the applause they received. WORK & OWER. 6 min. in one. This is a very lively and amusing acrobatic act. Both men work comedy and use table and mat. Stunts are exceptional good and get well merited applause: Finished big. RICE & COHEN. 26 min. F.S. This is a dandy sketch and presented in Rice and Cohen's own manner. Got advance applause and held the interest of the audience all the way through. Closed A1 as ever. MELODY MONARCHS. 18 min. in one and a half. These are local boys with a strong following here. Big advance hand for every one of their songs, which are original, went big. Took an encore and closed O.K. with the young lady assistant in the balcony box. "CONSUL." 25 min. F.S. Consul did a great many stunts that Peter did here before and some others that were original. Received good applause for his work on the one-wheel skates and the high bicycle, as well as for his comedy finish with the bed. Consul seems to work smoother than Peter with less friction and more comedy. KINETOGRAPH. "Capt. Charcot's Trip to the South Pole." One of the most interesting travel films that we have shown in a long time although quite short, lasting but seven minutes. GEN. REMARKS. As a summer show, this one would be hard to beat. It is fast, has good comedy, nice looking girls and two local favorites. If we should happen by any chance to get some seasonable temperature, we might do some business. Music Hall Pawtucket R. I. May 29--30--31 IoLeen Sisters 2 Ladies, Wire Walkers and Sharp Shooters.
