PHILADELPHIA SHOW C.E. BARNS JULY 17, 1911 KONERZ BROS. 10 min F.S. Four men who make a very good appearance in scarlet and white costumes, and who do excellent work in hoop rolling and hoop juggling as well as diabolo. Received good applause throughout. The diabolo stunt was particularly good and closed strong. ARTHUR BOWEN 11 min in one. this man had a distinct novelty. His caricatures are well drawn and familiar. He is a good baritone singer and illustrates his songs with drawings. Received good applause and closed well. HOWARD AND LAURENCE. 20 min F.S. Practically the same act as presented here before in which Miss Laurence's character dancing was particularly good. Held the spot and closed strong. CLARK & BERGMAN 16 min in one. Carry own drop. This is a mighty good act. Miss Clark is a very pretty girl, and whereas her voice is a little lacking, she is very vivacious and her dancing is exceptionally good. Mr Bergman also makes a change of costume, has a fine baritone voice, dances well and the pair have a good selection of songs. The line of patter is clever. The finish was exceptionally strong. Thoroughly made good. HERMINE SHONE & CO. "The Little GODDESS" 25 min F.S. A development of the former sketch of Emmett De Boy and very lively and showman-like throughout. Held the interest of the audience and received laughter and applause. The playlet has a good many surprising and amusing terms and the finish is good. DIAMOND & NELSON 15 min in one. These people were well liked from the start. Each makes a change of costume. Their line of patter and selection of songs are very good. Miss Nelson is very pretty and has a good voice. Diamond is a good dancer. Closed with the Tettrazini and Caruso number and were compelled to give an encore. FRED BOND, BENTON & CO. "His Gay Papa". 22 min F.S. This is a very gay and sprightly feature developed out of his former sketch, "His awful Dad," and certainly was very amusing all the way through. Mr Bond gets out of it all the fun which the lines contain and is admirably supported by Miss Fremont and Mr Spencer. Held the spot in great shape and closed very strong. TROVATO 17 min in one. The audience did not know how to take this man at first, as he seemed to be playing for effect and nothing for music. But they soon found he is a most amazing technician and put a lot of comedy into his work that gets the crowd very strong. In fact, they were loth to let him go at the finish. Held this hard spot in great shape and closed very big. BIRD MILLMAN 13 min F.S. Miss Millman received advance applause. Began with her modest song on the wire and proceeded with her amazingly skilful dancing with the aid of an umbrella. Her assistants are very clever. The act is beautifully put on and makes an excellent closer. KINETOGRAPH "Shooting the Rapids in D'Auvergne, France." One of the most beautiful colored travel films we have ever had. General Remarks. This show played off very well from start to finish, and there will be no shifts. Bond & Benton led the hits with Trovato a close second. In fact, the show held together immensely and pleased everybody. We are promised good weather, and this should be a winning week all right. Music Hall, Pawtucket Week of July 13-14-15 Three Romans - 2 men and a woman - Equilibristic Novelty - Introducing Roman Statuary and Ladder Act. Dressed in Picturesque Costumes of Ancient Rome - 10 min. took very good indeed - Brown & [Farlardeau?] - Man and woman - Harem skirt [???] - [Gafny Brown?] in 'Watch the Cigarette - 17 min in one - went good Five Merry MacGregors - going great
