Boston Show Week of August 21, 1911. R. G. Larsen. (Afternoon show) Overture. 12 minutes. Poeltz-Larella. 8 minutes full stage. This is a very good opening act with rather attractive girls, well dressed, and doing some very clever stunts, balancing and hand dancing. Cotter & Boulden. 17 minutes in one. Doing pretty much the same act as when here before and getting away with it in pretty good shape in this spot. Rossow Midgets. 8 minutes full stage. It is some years since we played these Midgets. They never went bigger than they did this afternoon. The boxing match is about as lively and as funny as we ever had on the stage. Full of laughs. Mack and Orth. 23 minutes in one. Doing "The Wrong Hero" and getting laughs all through it, with a good finish. Willard Simms & Co. In "The Paper Hanger." 29 minutes full stage. Close in one. A succession of laughs. In fact "The Paper Hanger" is just as funny to-day as it ever was apparently. Jewell's Manikins. 17 minutes full stage. This troupe did not arrive until two o'clock this afternoon and were able to go on and do a good show. Pleased as usual. Alexander & Scott. 13 minutes in one. Worked rather a bit slow this afternoon but warmed up to a good finish. Rose Pitonof. 12 minutes full stage. The new tank built for Miss Pitonof at considerable expense did not meet expectations when tested Saturday, so we used the tank in the stage. She did pretty much the same performance as before, and as usual won the audience by her childish personality. As an extra feature we introduced Alsie Aykroyd, the seventeen year old girl who swam to Boston Light on Sunday, the papers this morning being filled with accounts of it. She did not get into the tank as she never appeared before the public, except in her swimming matches. Cuts. Willard Simms & CO.--Stick to old line "I smell nothing." Cotter & Boulden--Last verse of song following banjo number about the woman losing----- Music Hall, Pawtucket, R. I. Week of Aug. 24-25-26 Pierre & Dunham - 2 men - Blackface Comedians - Singing - 10 min in 1 1/2. Went good Chas. Gill & Co. - 3 men - The Devil, the Servant and the Man - 20 min. - Went very good - 3 curtain calls - Hilda Keenan - going good
