FIFTH AVENUE THEATRE. WEEK AUG 21, 1911. Mlle Olive Pal 13 Min Some clever juggling assisted by man in clown make up and a small boy. Does some clever tricks and makes a good opener. Carroll & Cooke St 1 14 Two rather ordinary looking fat men in evening clothes, singing and talking. One is supposed to be a comedian, the other straight. Moved to this position in evening on account of their showing in afternoon, after which they started making sarcastic remarks to the audience, and when spoken to threatened to close. I hope they do. Aurora Troupe Garden F. S. 16 Min This troupe of six do some wonderful and novel work on bicycle and revolving table. Picked the show up wonderfully here, which it certainly needed. One of the best troupes we have played and good value to any house. Cameron & Gaylord. Op 1 cl Kitchn 13 Min "On & Off" The old act went well and made a good comedy feature. Linden Beckwith Plush 1. 18 Min Miss Beckwith looked very charming in some new clothes, but lacks material. Her songs were too much of the same character, and lacked variety. Her voice was apparently as good as ever, but she should eliminate the dramatic recitation, which is beyond her and confine herself to straight songs, which she can put over as well as any single woman we have. Charles Richman & Co. C. D. F. 16 Min "On the fire escape" Rather a trivial little sketch in a farcical vein that is well acted by Miss Walker and only fairly so by Mr Richman. The vehicle lacks any strength and is a weak headline attraction, es- effort to do something, which however fails of accomplishment. Without comedy, and with a tragic finish it is a bad act to close a show. This however seemed the only possible position and where it would do the least harm. Pathe Weekly. Some interesting events including Togo's visit to Mayor Gaynor. Note. The show is a fair one, and the two big hits make one overlook some of the other acts. Robert E Irwin Manager.
