FIFTH AVENUE THEATER REPORT. SEPTEMBER 18, 1911. MMLE LERIS LOYAL. Wood f.s. 10 Min Equestrian act, with some comedy furnished by a man who acts as ringmaster. Was moved from closing to opening after matinee. Did not arouse any enthusiasm. SMITH & CAMPBELL ST 1 18 Min Talking on the old style act but not so good. In fact they failed to arouse any excitement and went #2 after the matinee. Dill & Ward. Olio 10 Min An ordinary singing and dancing act. Only fair. Great Howard C. D. F. 17 Mi Ventriloquist. Has some good material, but is not in the front rank. Went fairly well however and the first fairly good act on the bill. BESSIE LEONARD. Spec 1 1/2 16 min A little girl who makes changes and sings and dances. There is nothing especially new in her songs, but her personality gets them. She went well and in fact was the second applause hit of the bill. 5Th Ave Theater #2 Sept. 11/11 Went well with same material and closed the show well. PATHE WEEKLY. Interesting events and ladies styles in bonnetts. Note: The show proved uninteresting and dull on account of too many acts of a similar nature. #2, 3, 4, 5, 5 7. & 9 were talking or singing and all of these with the exception of #4 were acts in 1 and that closed in one, leaving but three full stage acts, which of necessity made the show look small and lacking of any big act with the exception of Miss Bingham. Manager. Robert E Irwin
