TRENT THEATRE CRITICISM, WEEK OF OCTOBER 2, 1911 By J. F. Clancy Afternoon Show. THE TWO MACKS Singing and dancing act in "two." This couple does some very clever dancing. The lady member of the team sings three songs of very ancient vintage. Act closes strong with a rather novel dance. ELSIE DURAND Singing act in "one." Miss Durand holds this spot down very nicely, her unusual voice commanding close attention from the audience throughout her entire act. Went big at the finish. THE GRAZERS A musical and dancing offering in full stage. The toe dancing of the male member of this combination is excellent and somewhat of a novelty as one does not expect work of this kind from a man. The act went well in this position and at the night show we move them down to #5, the reason for this being that we need a little more comedy in the first half of the bill. JARVIS & HARRISON A little comedy sketch, called "The Fellow and the Girl on the Bench". The lines are very bright and the act contains a couple of good singing numbers and closes with a soft shoe dance. Went extremely well in this position although at the night show we move them up to #3 in order to liven up the first part of the bill. CHINKO, THE JUGGLER Here is a great juggling act in full stage. Chinko is a very clever juggler. He works fast and introduces in the act a number of novelties which I have never seen in any other similar offering. Went big at the afternoon show today. Chinko, with the possible exception of Salerno, is the greatest juggler I have ever seen. In rearranging the bill after the matinee we placed Chinko up #4, closing the first half, and I think he will go better in this position than he did opening after the intermission. THREE WHITE KUHNS Singers of popular ragtime melodies. Work in "one." It has been a long time since I have heard as much applause in this theatre as that which greeted these three fellows this afternoon. They were simply a "riot," to use a show term, and I look for them to draw us considerable business this week. LANE & O'DONNELL Comedy acrobatic act, full stage. This well known combination closed in mighty good shape one of the most entertaining bills we have had this season. Music Hall, Pawtucket, R. I. Week of Nov. 9-10-11 Kaiser's Dogs - 12 min - went good Fields & Eddy - 2 men - Comedy Duo - "The Tinker" 15 min in one - went good [Rather? Rother?] & Anthony - man and woman - Singing and Piano - 15 min - went fair Theo and Dandris - Balloon Girl - Going good
