Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of October 2, 1911. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. The show played very well indeed and evidently made good with the large audience present. STUART & KEELY This act opens rather tamely but managed to land fairly well with a good dancing finish. 13 Min. in One. THE MAGIC KETTLE I don't think it is as good as the old liquid-air act that has been presented. I think the man handicaps himself by not telling that it is liquid air instead of surrounding it with mystery. It is a good novelty to play and at the figure no fault can be found, but it must not be depended upon for too much strength. 20 Min. F. S. I prevailed upon him to tell the audience what it was at the night show with the result that the act went much stronger. THURBER & MADISON Man and woman; well-known act which scored a real hit. 18 Min. in One. GORDON BROS. and their BOXING KANGAROO Gordon Bros. open with a bag punching act which is good and lively and finish with the bout with the kangaroo, which lent lots of merriment to the act. A good novelty well worth playing. 11 Min. F. S. CARRIE DE MAR Miss De Mar has got some good songs and some wonderful costumes with a change of scene for each song. All in all it is an excellent act; one that should attract women particularly for her novelties in dressing. 23 Min. in One. MR. & MRS. HUGH EMMETT A very good ventriloquial act, well put on. Gave excellent satisfaction. 20 Min. in Three. Can close in One but it is best not to do so, if it can be avoided. FLANAGAN & EDWARDS This act is too well-known to require comment. It is only necessary to say that they fared as well as they have on previous visits here. 17 Min. open in One. Close in Two. Joe Hart's BATHING GIRLS I don't think this act is quite up to the standard of its former presentations. It doesn't seem to have had much done in the way of new costuming and the girls are not as clever as those on the previous visit. However, the act did very well and maybe I am more particular than the audience. 20 Min. Open in One. Close F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K. Music Hall, Pawtucket, R. I. Week of Nov. 13-14-15 Baxter & La Conda - man and woman - "Novel Acrobatic Dancers" - 14 min - went good Andy Rice - "Our Yiddish Friend" - 14 min in one - went weak Thos Hoier & Co. - 2 men, 2 women - "The Iceman" 15 min - went good Fred. St. Onge & Co. - "Comedy Bicycle Act" - 11 min - went good
