FIFTH AVENUE THEATRE REPORT. Week of October, 2, 1911. SELBINI & GROVINI Garden F. S. 12 Min A very clever act, consisting of music, juggling, bicycle riding and some acrobatics. Went well here. Farrell & Barnell Olio 1 15 Min Two rather nice appearing girls, who have little else to recommend them. They make some changes and have some attractive costumes, but possess little cleverness, and not remarkable voices. They are all right for the early part of a small show at the price but doubt if they get far on the big time. CALLAHAN & ST GEORGE. Spec F. S. 20 min "The old neighborhood" The old act went well here and pleased the audiences. Mayme Remington & Picks. Olio 1 20 Min This act should be called The Picks and Mayme Remington. She does little but the colored boys are clever and make several changes do acrobatic dancing and have quite a little primitive comedy. It is a good act of its kind. HOUDINI. Pal F. S. 25 Min This act has gone back materially since last seen here. He opens with a moving picture film showing what he used to do and follows it up by doing little. Starting with a strait jacket escape which is none to exciting, he closes with the milk can trick which has been seen here before. Some special challenges have been arranged for the week which may liven the act up a bit, but as it stands it is not such good value. FELIX ADLER As a monologist, he did not do all that I expected of him from having seen his act before. It may have been his spot on the program or that his material did not appeal. As it was he just got by without causing any riot. several interesting subjects, including the launch of a battle ship, firing the big gun at Sandy Hook, the Shriner's parade at Atlantic City Etc. The film was so good that it was put in the middle of the show after the first time, so that no one should miss it, and it held everyone's attention to the finish. Note. The show runs well and is a good show without any particular class or novelty to draw business in a large city. Manager. Robert E Irwin Manager
