BOSTON SHOW WEEK OCTOBER 23 - 1911. (R. G. Larsen.) (Monday night show.) BRAGGAAR BROTHERS. 7 minutes f.s. A very fair foreign clown act on the horizontal bars closing with a burlesque wrestling match. Has a touch of novelty and opened the show in good shape. FROEHLICH. 12 minutes in one. Novelty cartoonist. This man draws several sketches, closing with a marine drawing behind which lights are placed, illuminating the scene. We had him cut out his shadowgraph "couchee" dance used in New York and substitute another sketch, and to-day he held this spot in very fair shape at both performances. BARRY, HALVERS and CO. 17 minutes f.s. special set. Presenting their new act, "Meet Me At The Fountain." This new offering is hardly up to the standard of their previous act, and while it went fairly well and got a number of laughs, the finish at both shows to-day was weak. FENTELLE and VALLERIE. 16 minutes in one, special drop. A man and woman in a rather neat singing and talking act somewhat after the fashion of Mack and Walker. While the act is very well dressed and the people are both clever, the act seems to drag at times and lacks ginger. It failed to get over at both shows to-day. CORCORAN and DIXON. 12 minutes in one. Blackface comedians. The eccentric dance of one of these boys is a revelation, while they have a very fair line of talk that got laughs all through and closed big. PAUL SELDONS' VENUS. 12 minutes f.s. special drop. Almost the identically same poses as they have previously offered here, and going as well as ever. VAN HOVEN. 16 minutes in one. This man has improved his act considerably since his first appearance here, with quite a lot of new material, and he had them laughing all through. Closed big. LILLIAN RUSSELL. 16 minutes f.s. We sold out to-day at both shows, and there can be no question but what Miss Russell is the magnet. She got a reception, sang six songs, and each number was very well received, and she was obliged to make a little speech at the finish. There can be no question but that she will do business for us. JONES and DEELY. 16 minutes special drop in two. Same act as previously offered and going as well as ever in this hard spot. SIX ABDALLAHS. 7 minutes f.s. Although not as strong as some other Arab troupes we have played, they closed the show in very good shape at both performances to-day.
