C. E. Barns. Philadelphia Show. Sept. 9, 1912 The Ferrell Bros. 9 min. F. S. Two boys, one works straight, the other eccentric. Do a fair line of cycling acrobatic feats. The first part of the act dragged, but warmed up towards the last and closed fairly well. Phina & Picks. 13 in one. Good songs put over with lots of spirit and dash. Held the spot well and closed strong after the eccentric dancing finish. The Berrens. 13 min. F. S. The two boys duplicated the hit they made here some months ago. Every number was applauded and, of course, the surprise finish was strong and caused comment all over the house. Andrew Kelley. 16 min. in one. A good line of Irish stories, well put over. Laughter and applause throughout and a good finish after an encore. Zelda Sears & Co. "The Wardrobe Woman." 22 min. F. S. A picture of the seamy side of stage life which interested the audience throughout, but made no great hit for a headliner. Held this place on the bill all right, but did not work up enough enthusiasm to justify a stronger place. Fair finish. Olive Briscoe. 17 min. in one. A very attractive artiste with a good line of songs that are new, alternating some clever patter. Three changes of costume, all stunning. Closed with an encore. Bell Family. 25 min. F.S. Advance applause. One of the best musical organizations that we play. Held the audience in rapt attention with their various numbers. Very showy in costuming, etc., and whatever they do in music, comedy or dancing is well done. Received a good hand throughout and made a tremendous finish. Compelled to give four encores. Bixley & Lerner. 15 min. in one. Advance applause. These two comedians held down this hard spot in good shape. A good line of material ending up with their well-known "Melba and Caruso" sketch which is a scream. Closed very strong. Casting Dunbars. 9 min. F. S. the well known act which makes a splendid closer just as it has always done with us. Good hand throughout and closed big. Kinetograph. An exceptionally good Pathe current event film. General Remarks. This show moved along rather quietly until the Bell Family which caught the house and there was plenty of enthusiasm and applause right up to the end.
