HUDSON THEATRE, UNION HILL, WEEK OF SEPT. 23rd. Jos. R. Smith ASAKI ---- Japanese juggler who gives clever exhibition while revolving around the stage on roller skates. Good opening act. Full stage, Time 9 Min. MARTIN & COURTNEY ---- Man and woman presenting comedy "At the Movies", in which they introduce some songs and parodies, together with some humorous take offs. Fair act for number two. 6 min. 5 in three, 3 min. in one, Time 15 min. Brown and Bleyler ---- Two men, one a singer and the other a piano player, who show signs of talent, but haven't the songs. The act would probably be better received with more up-to-date material. Went fairly well. Time 11 Min. in one. "THE YELLOW DRAGON" ---- Four men and a woman in a dramatic sketch based on the escape of several Americans from a small coast town in China during the Boxer uprising in 1900. The performance was rather amateurish, and members of the cast in their effort to get the piece over, turned serious situations into comedy parts, but despite this fact the act went fair. C. D. F. Time 26 Min. INTERMISSION A. O. DUNCAN ---- Well known ventriloquist using four dummies and a special drop representing deck of an ocean liner. went well at both shows. Time 11 min. in two and a half, five in one, time of act 16 min. GUS. EDWARDS SONG REVUE ---- This well known musical act went big at both shows and should draw business this week. Time 45 min. with special scenery. PHOTOPLANE ---- SATISFACTORY (R. G. Larsen.) MACMAHON, DIAMOND AND CLEMONS.13 minutes in two. Wood. Open and close in one. Two girls and a boy in a lively singing and dancing act that started the ball rolling in good shape. OTTO BROTHERS. 16 minutes in one. Street. These German co,medians have considerable new material, most of it dealing with the Presidential campaign. Went over big to-night in this spot, getting many laughs and finishing strong. HICKMAN BROTHERS and COMPANY in "A Detective Detected." 13 minutes f.s. Special divided set. A comedy sketch without much rhyme or reason, built around a trap door in the call, but it had the audience laughing heartily, and closed well. LILLIAN ASHLEY. 18 minutes in one. O. P. Drapery. Miss Ashley has added considerable new material since her last visit. Although suffering from a very bad cold, she gathered strength as she went along and closed big with her telephone song. The best act she has ever given us. SIXGREAT TORNADOES. 7 minutes f.s. Palace. have a number of good tricks, and went very well in this position. TONY HUNTING and CORINNE FRANCES. 20 minutes in one. Garden. "The Love Lozenges." Here is a most welcome addition to the standard acts in one. Good, clean co,medy, a couple of new songs, and some clever eccentric dancing by Hunting. Went big at both shows to-day. SAM CHIP and MARY MARBLE. 23 minutes f.s. "The Land of Dykes." Special set. One of the handsomest sets of scenery ever in the house. While the new act is beautifully staged, and has three dainty musical numbers, it seems to lack "the punch" of "In Old Eddam." Went very well, but hardly the riot they have been in previous visits. HARRY TIGHE and CLIFFORD. 19 minutes in one. Olio. Tighe has a new partner, who sings a couple of songs and wears two stunning gowns. Tighhe plays the piano and does his usual amount of "kidding." Were a little slow in getting under way, but finished well. HONORS and LEPRINCE. 7 minutes f.s. Garden. French eccentric comedians. A couple of knockabout acrobats who got a lot of laughs and closed the show in excellent shape. CUTS. Harry Tighe - "Marching through Georgia" parody - expressions "My God" and "Hell" - Burlesque problem drama
