Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of September 30, 1912. CHAS. LOVENBERG, Manager. This is as good a show as we have had this season and one that seemed to give satisfaction in every way to the audience. BOYLE & BRAZIL This act in itself doesn't amount to much. Two young fellows who do various kinds of step dancing and ec-centric dancing. They work very hard, probably a little too hard for results; sufficing to open the show; can't recommend them for much better. 10 Min. in One. WILLIAMS, THOMPSON & CO. A very funny nigger act called "The Burglar's Union;" got plenty of laughs all the way through. Open with about 8 Min. in One and 6 Min. F. S. 14 Min. in all. RICHARDS & KYLE At the afternoon show these people didn't go as well as it seemed to me their material warranted and not as well as has been reported from other houses; however, I think it is a very good act and probably will go better with the night crowd. 14 Min. in One. CHIP & [MARBLE?] & CO. It has been said that this act is not as good as their former offering. That is an open question. If this act had been produced first I think the verdict would have been just the opposite. It is a very dainty affair, put on in splendid shape; well played and in every way satisfactory to this house. 23 Min. F. S. JOE WHITEHEAD Here's a comedian with a new sort of personality; a lot of crazy stuff put forward in a new way, but with all his nonsense there is plenty of real merit; made a very big hit. 15 Min. in One. The Providence PLAYERS In a lively farce called "Who's Brown?" It is rather difficult to give a criticism of my own production. I will only say that the audience laughed immoderately all through and the players got plenty of applause at the finish. From the standpoint of the audience, I would say it is a big hit. 34 Min. F. S. BIG CITY FOUR These four clever men made the same good impression here this afternoon that they have been credited with in other cities. 20 Min. in One. THE FOUR REGALS A splendid strong-man act; nicely mounted and novel in its presentation; held the audience in their seats right to the finish. 11 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES Pathe Weekly - O. K.
