REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW, WEEK OCT.14----W.W.PROSSER ARCHIE ONRI & MISS DOLLY. A very acceptable juggling number. All of the work is clean-cut and thoroughly good in execution. All and all, a good opener. Moderately strong finish. Palace in 5,11 min. (Atlanta) DAVE FERGUSON: The "Storiette Comedian". Works in evening dress, and material consists of songs and stories. Opened with song, moderately good, then had a little rough sledding, but picked up as he went along, and, with his closing "Sis" number, finished very strong, taking several bows. Olio in 1, 16 minutes. (Indianapolis) GORDON HIGHLANDERS: Three men, one woman, instruentalists, vocalists, pipers and dancers .A very good novelty number.Received very favorably throughout. Finished quite strong. C.D.F. in 3, close in 1,14 min. (Atlanta) LORA: "The Girl in The Parrot". Another good novelty number. A young woman opens, secreted in an immense parrot, which is sustained by special rigging. Her father announces the nature of the act which is not of the "mind-reading" order, but is an unusual demonstration of mental training. She names at will any article submitted by a patron, reads coins, cards &c. Finishes in 1, with a special drop on which appears a series of two hundred (200) numbers, each of which is in the illions. On the selection of a number, she immediately repeats the figures correctly, forward and backward. The act held attention throughout, and, at the finish, she was heartily endorsed. Terrace in in 4,special in 1,15 minutes. (Louisville) LYDELLE AND BUTTERWORTH: "The Light Brown Girl and The Funny Dancer". An unusually good singing, talking and dancing number. The success was spontaneous, and their hit ephatic from beginning to end. Fine finish. Olio in 1,14 minutes. (Chicago) W.L.ABINGDON AND CO: Two men, one woman. In a dramatic playlet, "Honer Is Satisfied". A new treatment of the "triangular" situation, capably portrayed. Fine work on the part of the star. Very good "surprise" finish. Several curtains. Library in 3,18 minutes. (Atlanta) MACK AND ORTH. In a comedy skit, "The Wrong Hero". An ideal next-to-closing number. Songs, comedy and talk. Regular fun-riot. Very strong finish. Special in 1, 25 minutes. (Toledo) JUNGMANN FAMILY 3 men, 2 women. As good a wire act as we have ever had in the house. A dash of comedy. Went big throughout, scoring strong finish. Palace in 5, 10 minutes. (Cincinnati) PATHE WEEKLY. O.K.
