84 GRAND OPERA HOUSE, PITTSBURGH, PA. JOHN P. HARRIS. OCTOBER 28th, 1912. HAVILAND and THORNTON 17 minutes. Full stage. Special; close in one. Exterior. Presenting "A Question of Policy." A singing and dancing act that I did not consider good. I am sure we would not care to play them a return engagement. BRITT WOOD Olio in One. 8 minutes. In song, Dance, Chatter and Harmonica playing. This young man went well. We have him No. 2 on the bill, but I am sure that he could be placed No. 4 and still make good. CLARA BALLERINA 7 minutes. Garden. Full Stage. European Novelty Artist. This woman stands alone in her particular line. She is really too well known to need any extended criticism, except to say that she has just as good an act now as she ever had. BELLE STORY 13 minutes. Olio. "Dainty Singer of Sweet Songs." Miss Story was a big hit. She has a good personality, fine costumes and a great voice. ED. BLONDELL & CO. Interior. 17 minutes. In "The New Boy." Blondell is a real comedian and keeps them laughing all the time. His company is not good, but fortunately the company is a very small part of the act. CROSS & JOSEPHINE 18 minutes. Olio in One. A comedy skit with songs and dances. Going very big. One of the best acts of its kind we have ever played. MAX'S COMEDY CIRCUS 15 minutes. Special. Full stage. While this act was a big hit, I am sure that it would be improved very much if they would cut out the talking in the act. KELLER MACK and FRANK ORTH 23 minutes. Special in one. "The Wrong Hero." A singing and dancing skit. A big hit in a very hard place on our bill. SIMON & OSTERMAN in "A PERSIAN GARDEN" 40 minutes. Special. Full Stage. A musical comedy that lacks comedy and voices. In my opinion, this act just gets by and is not worth the money we are paying it. MOTION PICTURES. Pathe's Weekly.
