93 Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of November 18, 1912. CHAS. LOVENBERG, Manager We have, this week, a splendid show; not an act in it but what made good and several distinct hits. CHAS. LEDDEGAR "The Flying Dutchman" - a bounding wire act with a lot of comedy talk that got over in first rate style. 10 Min. F. S. 4 TEXAS TOMMY DANCERS Corking good lively number that sent the show spinning along in great shape. 8 Min. F. S. DR. JOHN C. BOWKER An illustrated 20 min. talk entitled "Beneath the Balkans;" a subject now of very timely interest, well given, which held the audience with close interest and received a good hand at the finish. Dr. Bowker is always good for one week here and was made welcome to-day. The subject being so very timely, it seems to me that he should be desirable for any thinking audience. 20 Min. in One. LAURA GUERITE & Arthur Conrad Singing, dancing and talking; very clever act, well dressed and well presented; much better than I expected. 20 Min. open F. S. Close in One. BUD FISHER There is no question as to Fisher's drawing power; he has quite an interesting act, but not nearly so good to my mind as Windsor McCay, but he can draw more money in the house, and that is of prime importance. 16 Min. in Two. CONLIN, STEEL & CARR Well-known comedy act which made its usual hit. 22 Min. in One. W. L. ABINGDON & CO. In a semi-dramatic sketch called "Honor Is Satisfied." Personally, I like the act very much and I think that the audience did as it got plenty of applause, but I am quite sure that there were a number of ladies in the audience who were frightened at the anticipation of the expected suicide, several children commence to holler, and I question the desirability of acts of this kind in vaudeville. It got lots of applause at the finish, but I don't think that the sketch will draw any money; in fact it may have a tendency to keep some people away. 15 Min. F. S. "RUBE" DICKINSON Same big hit as last season and as everywhere else. 14 Min. in One. MAX'S BURLESQUE CIRCUS Good novelty for the children, plenty of laughs and a good finish to a crack-a-jack show. 16 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES O.K.
