129 REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW WEEK DEC.16,1912-W.W.PROSSER THE SEEBACKS: 1 man, 1 woman in a novelty bag-punching number.Quite a lot of unusual tricks presented, all of which seemed to please, and several of which earned applause.Made a satisfactory opener.Finished strong. Special [Cyke?] in 3.12 min. (Toledo) MULLEN & COOGAN: 2 men, in "A Broadway Trim". Singing, dancing and talk. Quite a good act of its kind which met with success generally. Afew low spots, but,all in all, wholly satisfactory, with fairly strong finish.Street and olio in 1,22 min. (Harrisburg) LES GOUGETS: Man and woman in a novelty musical offering. Various wind instruments are effectively introduced. The act was well received throughout, finishing strong. C.D.F. in 3,13 min. (Cincinnati) MARIE FENTON: The Melody Maid". One of the best comediennes here for some time. Sang four songs, all of which scored emphatically. Exceptionally strong finish, and the hit of the show up to this point. Olio in 1,14 min. (Syracuse) NORRIS BABOONS: Two, "Emperor and Empress". The best "Monk" act we have ever played. Their routine of feats is so capably presented that the trainer is wholly in the background, all the more to his credit. The act proved of as much interest as a first-grade sketch. Applause punctuated the offering and a strong finish was scored. Landscape in 3. 14 minutes. (Harrisburg) McMAHON & CHAPPELLE: In "How Hubby Missed The Train". The kind of act we all want and seldom find. Undivided attention throughout. Laughs at the right points. Could scarcely conceive of an act more thoroughly pleasing. Everyone delighted. Strong finish. Special in 1, 18 min. (Toledo) JULIUS STEGER & CO: 4 men, 1 woman in "Justice", a dramatic incident from real life. I was somewhat uneasy about Mr.Steger, on account of his closing the show. In justice to him,he has the distinction of being the only closer this season that has held every person throughout his act and until he took four or five curtains. The act is strong in pathos, and decidedly of dramatic interest. It is capitally presented, and the star's individual success was genuine. Very capable support was rendered by his company, making all in all, an offering very much worth while. C.D.F. in 3, 18 min. (Indianapolis) Pathe Weekly: O.K.
