REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW WEEK OF JAN. [?]. 1913-- W.W.PROSSER. LaVIER: Novelty trapeze artist. Garden in 5, 5 min. This man has an excellent act. His tricks are new and very rapidly put over. For an act of this nature, he gave the best satisfaction of anything we have ever played. Applause throughout and very strong finish. (Open) HALLIGAN & SYKES Man and woman in singing and talking number. Street in 1, 15 minutes. Very good number which gave general satisfaction. Scattered applause and fairly good finish. (Cleveland) ROBBIE GORDONE. Poses of statuary. Special in 4. 7 min. Very good. All changes very fast. Applause after each number and a moderately strong finish. (Syracuse) [DuCALION:?] The "Talkative Englishman on the Ladder". Olio in 1, 18 min. Well known act which proved highly satisfactory. Favorable impression throughout and strong finish. (Detroit) SIMON, OSTERMAN & CO: 13 people in a Miniature Musical Comedy, "A Persian Garden". Special in 5, 42 minutes. By far the best offering of this class that we have ever played. First of all, a good comedy story which affords unlimited possibilities for laughter. Next, unusually clever principals and a company of real merit. Finally, costumes and scenery which impart an air of a genuine production. From curtain to curtain, the act was a tremendous hit, and offered as much amusement as the usual two or three act musical show. Very strong finish. (Harrisburg,Pa) MAUD LAMBERT & ERNEST BALL: Musical Comedy Favorite and Popular Composer. Olio in 1, 21 minutes. Notwithstanding the difficulty which would usually attend an act of this kind following the preceding offering, this team waded in and virtually stopped the show. Every number went big. The final one compelling them to take bows repeatedly. Could hardly conceive of an act going better. (Atlanta) ERGOTTI & LILLIPUTIANS: European Risley artists. Palace in 5. 11 minutes. If there is anything along this line that has greater intrinsic merit combined with classiness, it has not been shown here. Undivided attention and a very strong finish. (Toledo) PATHE WEEKLY: O.K.
