204 C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. FEB. 3, 1913. REDFORD & WINCHESTER. 17 min. F.S. Same act that they have done in this house about twelve or fifteen times. Held the spot acceptably and made them laugh. SPENCER & WILLIAMS. 14 min. in one. These new people with us held this spot very well, the young girl being very pretty and a good vocaliste. Have a good line of material. Closed with a little dance to good applause. MAXIM'S MODELS. 18 min. F.S. Very artistic and beautiful reproductions of the masters in painting, each one of which received good applause. Considerable time since we have had a feature of this kind and everybody seemed to like it. Closed very well. KENNEY, NOBODY & PLATT: 15 min. in one. These people have a lot of new material and some with which we are familiar. It is all good and they held down this spot in excellent shape. Closed very well. NINA MORRIS & CO. "The Yellow Peril." 24 min. F.S. Beautifully presented, a strong melodramatic situation and well acted. Held the interest of the audience throughout and received a good closing hand. PROF. OTA GYGI. 13 min. in one. Little advance applause. Played three numbers and "The Swanee River" encore acceptably. Was well received. On the whole, made good in this spot. "THE MOVIES." 25 min. open in two, goes to one, closes full stage. this is certainly a novelty and is a big laugh all the way through. The burlesque moving pictures give the fake audience an opportunity to make plenty of fun, and the amusing remarks convulse everybody. All right on any bill where a real laughing act is required. RAY COX. 28 min. in one, closing in two. Miss Cox is a great favorite here and always gets advance applause. This is the first time she has appeared with a pianist. They simply would not let her go. All of her material is new and all of it good. Finished with the "Aeroplane" girl number which is a scream, and one of the most amusing novelties in one we have ever had. MAX WELSON TROUPE. 10 min. F.S. Fine closing feature. Make a brilliant appearance and certainly have an athletic act that leaves nothing to be desired. Big applause. KINETOGRAPH. "The Counts." A very amusing film. GENERAL REMARKS. This show played off immensely, every act making good or better with a few surprises on the right side. Nobody could go away and any that this was not pretty nearly an ideal vaudeville bill. It certainly ought to do the business.
