230 C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. FEB. 17, 1913. THE STANLEYS. 9 min. F.S. This act makes a good opener, getting a few scattered laughs and closing well. JOHN T. MURRAY 10 min. in one. Held this spot in great shape. Started off a little light but gained strength and made a big hit with his "Archibald" song and his imitation of a moving picture melodrama. THE KEATONS. 20 min. F.S. Although "Buster" Keaton is pretty nearly a full grown man, nevertheless he keeps up the kid illusion very well, and the new material introduced in a measure takes the place of that of the former act when Joe could more easily throw the kid across the stage. It is really a very amusing act. Got plenty of laughter and applause and closed strong. ADLER & ARLINE. 15 min. in one. This burlesque hypnotizing act gives Adler a chance to do lots of imitations of birds, beasts, etc., and introduce a deal of comedy, all of which he does very well. Could hold a good spot on any bill with credit. Miss Arline is pretty and does the part of the hypnotizer very well. Made a good finish. SIX KIRKSMITH SISTERS. 16 min. F.S., close in one. Advance hand. Carry their own scene set which is very stunning. All mighty pretty girls and all extraordinarily talented. Every number, whether vocal or instrumental, got a good hand and the finish with the little pianist in the orchestra pit wielding the baton actually stopped the show for applause. MORTON & GLASS. "My Lady of the Bungalow." 16 min. in one. Carry their own drop which makes a pretty set for their act. Miss Glass has a pleasing personality, sings well and her gown is very fetching. Morton dresses in the height of fashion and together they prepossess the audience. Their songs and patter as well as their dancing are very good and won constant applause. Made a strong close. KATHRYN KIDDER & CO. "The Washerwoman Duchess." 21 min. F.S. This is a very impressive and thoroughly satisfactory tabloid version of "Madame Sans Gene," admirably presented by Miss Kidder and fine support. Held the audience quite spellbound throughout the entire feature and won a strong close. HAYDN, DUNBAR & HAYDN. 18 min. in one. These three boys have a ripping good act doing piano stunts, eccentric dancing, parodies and humor generally in a way that catches the audience and keeps them right up to a smashing big finish. Audience loth to let them go. BIRD MILLMAN & CO. 9 min. F.S. Miss Millman is more beautiful and skilful than ever, and gets her audience right from the first. The way she dashes across the stage and her daring stunts, all on the wire, are certainly amazing, and her assistants are O. K. Makes a fine closing feature. KINETOGRAPH. "For Professional Services." A very amusing film. GENERAL REMARKS. This show played off in great shape and gave general satisfaction to a capacity house. CUT ARLINE & ADLER. Reference in any individual in audience as "chicken."
