Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of September 9th, 1912. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. The show played very well indeed; everything getting considerable applause, altho there were no big hits; the greatest amount of applause going to Bonita & Hearn and Lamberti; all the other acts, however, pleased in their way. THE SHILLINGS Man and woman, sharp shooting act; man is an especilly good shot and the woman is also quite clever. 15 Min F. S. NEWBOLD & GRIBBIN Songs and impersonations; the man is the particular star of the act, altho the woman has a pleasant voice; The man's impersonation of Raymond Hitchcock being most remarkable, and that of Percival Knight also very good. 17 Min. in One. DICK, The Writing Dog This act got over much better than I thought it would; got quite a little applause during the act and considerable at the finish; seemed to hold the audience interested. 12 Min. F. S. CORRELLI & GILLETTE This act is a little of a disappointment. Correlli falls very much short as a comedian as compared to his predecessor. While the act is all right as a whole, I don't consider it as good as the old Mullen & Correlli act. 12 Min. in One. LAMBERTI Impersonations of famous performers on piano, cello and violin and an impersonation of Svengali, which made a strong finish; went exceedingly well all thro with strong applause at the close. 23 Min. F. S. OLGA PETROVA The way Miss Petrova went with the audience carries out my original opinion, that at half the salary she would be a very fine act; at $300 she would be excellently paid, any more than that is thrown away; by no possible means a headliner, at least, in Providence. 20 Min. in One. "HONOR AMONG THIEVES" Well-known Joseph Hart sketch that got over in first rate style; the audience seemed interested all thro and gave them quite a little applause at the finish. 21 Min. F. S. BONITA & HEARN I don't think Bonita counts for a great deal in the act; Hearn is a splendid comedian and handles the material in great style. Got plenty of laughs and several bows at the end of the act. 27 Min. Open and close in One. Part of the act played in Two. RAWSON & JUNE From the standpoint of novelty the act got over all right, but I don't think there is much cleverness displayed. Inasmuch as it is the first time we have ever had an act of this kind, it held the audience in their seats quite well to the finish. I think they get too much money. 10 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES Pathe Weekly - O. K.
