[Letterhead] SCENIC TEMPLE Vaudeville and Motion Pictures EXEC. OFFICE: UNION THEATRE UNION STREET PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND MAIN STREET PHONE PAWTUCKET 356 [End of letterhead] Pawtucket, R. I. Report on acts playing The Scenic Temple, week of November 10. Seen by C.L.mcNally. The Throwing Tabors. Man and Woman. Full stage. Club-juggling and swinging. The stunts that try are good, but they mar their work by altogether too frequent misses. Fair act. Went fair at matinee, good at night. Billy Dynes. Tramp comedian. Works in one, uses a falsetto voice, besides his own for singing. Opens with song off-stage, in the falseto voice. Sings some fair parodies. Went fair at matinee, and good at night. 12 minutes. Rackett, Moore and Markey. 1 man and two women. In one. Comedy, singing, talking, and dancing. Fair. Went fair at matinee, and good at night. There is absolutely nothing to this act, except the finish, which is a little Texas Tommy Dancing and which gets the act away to a good finish. Even this is not exceptionally good, Personally did not like the act. 14 minutes. This act is also overpaid. "A Dutch Courtship" A miniature comic opera, which gets by nicely as it is, but which needs some scenery and costumes badly. The act is well received, and thd voices average up well. There are two men, and two women, in the act Works in full stage 15 minutes. Went good. Show on the whole--fair. C.L.M. Pawtucket, R. I., Report on acts playing The Scenic Temple, week of November 13, 1913 Show seen and reported by C L McNally. Richards and Brandt. Two men, work in 3 before special drop. Hand and head balancing, and equilibristic work. 7 minutes Good act, but only went fair, at matinee Went good at night. Grace Pomeroy. Single woman, works in one. Fair singer, makes one change. Sings three songs. Two would be enough. Fair act. Went fair. Jordan and Doherty. Man and woman. Poor singers, but man is an excellent eccentric dancer, and the woman also has two good dancing and talking numbers. Close with a whirlwind dance. A good act. Boys and Girls of Avenue B. Four girls and three boys. The sketch that they present is supposed to take place in a telegraph office, but it is only a thinly-disguised school act, with the customary songs, dances, comedy, such as placing tacks on chairs, etc. Old jokes that have been heard in this house a hundred times, in every school act that has played it. "The Dog stood on the railroad track", and all the rest, of that kind. There is nothing new in the whole act. The girl lead has a very poor voice, but it may be only a cold. One of the boys, however does do a fair solo. Very much overpaid, and is certainly not an act to feature. Went fair at matinee, and very good at night.
