Washington Show. R. S. Robbins. December 1, 1913. Belle Onra. 7 minutes, full stage. Clever trapezist. Good opening act and went fairly well. Violinsky. 14 minutes in one. Eccentric pianist and violinist. Good comedy and it went well. Imitation of moving picture pianist most appreciated feature of act. Doris Wilson & Co. 14 minutes, full stage. Three attractive girls in singing and dancing sketch entitled "Through the Looking Glass." The singing and dancing only fair, but the looking glass illusion clever. The act pleased. Cantwell & Walker. 13 minutes in one. Special Set. Man and Woman. Singing, dancing and comedy -- not very good. The woman of pleasing personality. The act got more applause than it deserved. Valerie Bergere & Co. 15 minutes, full stage. Tense melodramatic sketch gripping the audience from the start and holding it to the finish. "Judgment" is a splendid vehicle to show Miss Bergere's ability as an emotional actress. The artist ably supported, the child being especially competent. Much applause at finish. Pathe Weekly. Nine minutes of interesting pictures. Intermission. Meredith & "Snoozer". 18 minutes in one. Man with trained dog. Stunts of the animal remarkable, also good comedy in the act. It went fine. Beaumonte & Arnold. 16 minutes full stage. High class singing, dancing and comedy act. Original songs, good comedy and beautiful dancing. Very good dressers The distinct hit of the show. GUS EDWARDS & CO. 38 min. opening in one and closing F.S. "Song revue of 1913" Mr. Edward's new and old songs rendered by himself, clever principals and chorus, sourrounded with what was once beautiful scenery. All but the latter was very much enjoyed by the audience, and the work of Mr. Edwards, "Cuddles" and Georgie was especially appreciated. ARMY AND NAVY GAME PICTURES 25 min. Remarkable and interesting picture of game and incidents connected with it. Some of the marching superfluous and there were a few indistinct places, all of which were easily eliminated. splendid drawing and advertising card. GENERAL REMARKS; Gala Bill worthy of our Thirtieth Anniversary.
