H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW. DEC. 8, 1913. MONTAMBO & WELLS. 11 min. F.S. Two lively acrobats, one working straight, the other comedy, using carpet, tables, chairs, barrel, etc., after the regulation knockabout act. Makes a good opener. Got a fine closing hand after the double backward somersault from the high tables and chairs. MAYME REMINGTON & PICKS. 13 min. in one. Miss Remington makes a fine appearance in her three changes of costume and great attention has been paid to the costuming of the Picks. Their work is very lively and their tango and turkey trot dancing won an especially good hand. Beside eccentric dancing, the Picks do some acrobatic work and some Chinese comedy. Made a lively close to a strong hand. MADDEN & FITZPATRICK. "The Wanderer." 23 min. A very amusing sketch that went as strong as previously in this house with some good comedy situations, some pathos and very neat piano-playing. Closed with plenty of applause. JACK GARDNER. 13 min. in one. Mr. Gardner. got his audience quickly and held them through his various song numbers and recitations, all of which were good and well put over. His cello song, which is a gem, received special applause and he gave the refrain as an encore. SELDOMS' MODELS. 8 min. F.S. All that the title implies in poetry and art, every one of the posing features receiving a big hand. The last word in the classy posing art. Closed very strong after the fountain number. MORTON & GLASS. "My Lady of the Bungalow." 16 min. Same sketch as given here before, and just as finished and artistic as ever from the advance applause to the fine dancing finish. Plenty of good light comedy material well offered and altogether an act to hold a strong spot. FRITZI SCHEFF. 17 min. Miss Scheff received a genuine ovation this afternoon from a big house, with a strong hand and immense applause after each one of her numbers and particularly after the "Kiss Me Again" song from Mlle. Modiste and "Just a Little Love," which she sang as an encore after being called out again and again. Her accompanist, Mr. Ashenfllder, is all that could be desired and between Miss Scheff's numbers played Liszt's version of "Rigoletto" with fine effect. Miss Scheff's first appearance here may be regarded as a positive success as the applause showed her strong following here. SHERMAN, VAN & HYMAN. 13 min. in one. Coming after so much music, these boys held the hard spot immensely. Their work is full of ginger and they have a splendid selection of songs. Plenty of laughter and applause and a strong finish. SIX KAUFMANNS. 12 min. Well known act. Skilful and well dressed and makes the accustomed good closer. Frank Kaufmann's work was especially well applauded. KINETOGRAPH. A particularly interesting and varied Pathe series. GENERAL REMARKS. This is a classy show from start to finish and did not sag in a single feature. What obtains with the afternoon audience will certainly be more than seconded by evening crowds as Miss Scheff will draw the musical crowds and the surrounding show left nothing to be desired.
