42 SCENIC TEMPLE Vaudeville and Motion Pictures EXEC. OFFICE: UNION THEATRE UNION STREET PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND MAIN STREET PHONE PAWTUCKET 356 Pawtucket, R.I. Report on acts playing The Scenic Temple, week of December 8, 1913. Bess and Tinaman. Two men, work 16 minutes in full at age, in burlesque evening clothes They do tumbling and acrobatics, introducing some fair comedy, both working in comedy makeup. For a closing stunt, they do a tumble from four tables, after comedy business on same, much after the manner of Bert Melrose, and they get a great deal out of this close. The audience at the matinee were pleased with the act, and at the evening show it also went very well. Willis Twins Two Girls, work in one, 15 minutes. a singing, dancing, and change act that is pleasing . The girls do 5 number, make a pleasing appearance, and at the evening show went very well/ Sweethearts. A pleasing sketch of reunited sweethearts in after years, that, although written long ago, has as much sweetness and charm that it is an agreeable offering to all. It is in two parts, and is presented by the Frank Lee Short Co. a young lady, who presents the character of a young girl and an old lady equally well, a young man, who is seen to advantage as the young, beautiful lover and as the old gentleman who returns to claim his former sweetheart, and another man, who does a minor part well - The sketch is the best that we have seen in some time, and the audience was liberal in its appreciation of the qualities of it - Two beautiful scenes in full stage are used, the change from one to the other being made in surprisingly short time - 22 minutes are used from start to the finish inclusive of the change, which occupied one-half minutes- Roch and McCurdy The original Hi Holler and Seth Duesberry of "Way Down East", so their billing reads - Tey present a laughable mixture of unintelligible chatter by "Holler", rube dialect, straight songs, from "Way Down East", and laughable attempts to sing together, and burlesque magic, some of which is really very clever, if they did not give it away - A pleasing act, and it was received with enthusiasm at both the matinee and evening performances - 19 minutes before their own drop in one, representing a railroad station- Report on acts playing The Scenic Temple, week of December 11, 1913 Zeda and Hoot Man and woman Work in special set in full stage, with all their own scenery, which is very pretty indeed - The act is called "The Fiery Drago and the Owl", for the reason that the act opens with the man dressed as a dragon, and the woman as an owl - the man does some contortion work, and the woman dances, but except for the scenery, the act would have a hard time to get away with it, as the work of the artists is very tame - Only fair - 12 minutes Livingston and Fields Two girls Work in one - One is violinist, the other is singer, both are good - Neat act, well costumed, and the sole work was good, as wel as the work together, and the act went over good - 14 minutes - On the School Playground 7 girls, one woman, one man- Special scene in full stage - Singing, dancing, comedy, etc- A lively act, good for its kind, and pleased very much The Great Marco One man One legged singer and acrobat, including dancing and barrel jumping - a fair singer, and his dancing and barrel-work is great, went over good in 14 minutes-
