93 Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of January 19, 1914. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. The show is quite a good one; every act pleased; very little fault can be found with any one of them. AZARD BROS. A very fine hand-balancing act, possibly the best we ever had. 8 Min. F. S. "LITTLE CLEO" GASCOIGNE Vocalist. This little girl has a beautiful voice which she knows how to use and it was a tribute to the intelligence of our audience to note the hit that she Mae; her most classical numbers getting the greater amount of applause. 10 Min. in One. FREEMAN & DUNHAM Two young fellows, who sing comic songs, one of which I was obliged to eliminate because of its suggestiveness and they are inclined to make the most of any point that has anything suggestive to it. They should be watched carefully to see that they don't put anything "blue" in their act. 16 Min. in One. PRELLE'S DOGS This act's merits lies principally in the make-up of the animals to represent horses, elephants, etc.; other than that there is not much merit to the act. The ventriloquism would be good if the man was a decent ventriloquist; as it is no one knows what he is getting at, and as nothing can be understood of what she says, with a consequence that part of the act falls flat. I tried the act closing, but was obliged to move it up to this spot. It is a good novelty for the children, but beyond that it has no value in my opinion. 12 Min. F. S. WOOD & WYDE Man and woman in a little singing skit in One. The act has been described and is very well-kown so it is only necessary for me to say that it repeated the big hit they made here last season. 20 Min. in 1. DAINTY MARIE Altho Marie is not as "dainty" as one expects from her billing, nevertheless she has a good act, which pleased decidedly. 17 Min. Open with about 2 Min. in One, remainder of act in F. S. ROACH & MCCURDY "The Prune Center Cut-Ups." These two men held this spot with absolute satisfaction. It is a good rube act; one of the men's character drawing is certainly a splendid bit of work. 18 Min. in One. "BEAUTY IS ONLY SKIN DEEP" This splendid act scored immensely, as it should. Contains merit as a sketch; is full of bright lines; is well mounted and best of all, is particularly well played. 27 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
