B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE, CINCINNATI, OHIO. Week of January 25th, 1914. John F. Royal. MLLE. TINA 6 min. F.S. Garden. Pretty woman in graceful trapeze act. quite commonplace, but still good. Proved a fair opener. This was the first of three dumb acts on the bill. INDIANAPOLIS. WATSON AND SANTOS 17 min. in One. Olio. This is the first of five singing acts on the bill. Best team of straight singers we have had this season. The man in the act is not out of the ordinary, but the young lady has appearance, personality and a good voice. They were one of the big hits of the bill. INDIANAPOLIS. BERT MELROSE 22 min. 18 min. F.S. Land. 3 min. close in One. Mr. Melrose got a big reception and was the comedy and applause hit of the show. He had them screaming with his tables and chairs, and bravely attempted three minutes in One with his barrel in order to make the next set. Got over in fair shape. His work in one was crude in comparison with his Full Stage work, but he was very decent about doing all he possibly could to accommodate. As a whole his act was a tremendous hit. NEW YORK. MADDEN AND FITZPATRICK 24 min. F.S. Interior. Two men in a great talking, piano and singing act. The idea of this act is well conceived and the comedy is good, although the men are inclined to drag it out a bit. The situations are funny, the lines bright, and following any other act but Melrose would have gone much better. As it was they went very big. Splendid closing. PITTSBURG. ROBERT E. KEANE 18 min. in One. Well dressed chap in an English singing and talking offering. He has some good material which he puts over in good shape and proved very acceptable. All of his numbers went well and his talk got some good laughs. His closing was very good. INDIANAPOLIS. VALESKA SURATT 22 min. F.S. Prologue in One. This act is one of exceptional beauty. Miss Suratt wears gorgeous gowns and looks well, but her voice was not good principally because she evidently was suffering from a little throat irritation. This act is purely one of sight as far as Miss Suratt is concerned. Its foundation is very thin and not much to hold it up. The singing between Miss Suratt and Mr. Baldwin is nearly all of the same strain and the only real life comes when Mr. and Mrs. Higgins do their dancing. Nevertheless, it is something new and novel and in all probability will attract attention from our patrons. Everything considered, the act received an enthusiastic finish. CLEVELAND. THOSE FOUR ENTERTAINERS 13 min. in One. With four acts of singing preceding them, these boys got over in good shape. Their program is fair and the comedy of the base singer got some good laughs. They work fast and went big. INDIANAPOLIS. THE HASSMANS 7 min. F.S. Pal. Two men in a remarkable athletic act. In some of their tricks they begin where others leave off. They held nearly the entire audience in to their finish. Closed very big. HAMILTON, Ont. LOCAL MOTION PICTURES Very interesting. CUTS "Hell" Madden and Fitzpatrick. EXPLANATION -- Sunday matinee performance, Mr. Albno played with Miss Suratt in place of Mr. Baldwin, with whom she had trouble. This performance was so bad, that it was through advisable to put Baldwin back and improved it over a hundred percent. Albno was entirely outclassed.
