H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW. FEB. 9, 1914. TWO TOM BOYS. 8 min. Makes a very good opener. Both girls are expert in knockabout comedy, using table and chairs and getting lots of applause for their funny falls. Could really hold a better spot on the bill. GEORGETTE. 15 min. in one. Three changes of costumes, all of them very pretty. A born entertainer she held this spot very nicely. Received plenty of applause for her four numbers. Sang some new songs and some that she gave before. Closed very well. BEAUMONTE & ARNOLD. 18 min. For life, class and ginger, this act could not be excelled. From their opening in full stage with the Doctor's office up their work in one with two changes of costume they were immense. A great line of patter and they put it over in a brilliant manner. Their dancing finish got immense applause. MR. & MRS. VERNON CASTLE PICTURES. 13 min. Very artistic and realistic motion pictures of the latest society dances by Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Castle. Photographically they are perfect and the music is also in perfect accord with the pictures. Well received. WILL ROGERS. 16 min. works in one with his roping. Introduces a unicycle with which he jumps the rope, keeping the audience in laughter all the way through with his funny line of patter gotten over in his original way. will is a great favorite here and everything that he says and does gets the usual big hand. Made an immense finish. EDWIN STEVENS & CO. "The Troubles of R. and J." 20 min. A new act with some of his old material and some that was fresh, but it all went very well as he puts everything over in a very original way. Audience gave them plenty of applause throughout, the burlesque on Romeo and Juliet getting the audience especially strong. Lots of bright material, strong close. SALLIE FISHER. 14 min. Repeated her former hit with five numbers delightfully presented and all of them got good applause. Made a very fine appearance in some stunning gowns and made a strong close. ROONEY & BENT. 16 min. Always great favorites here, giving variation of their popular act. Strong advance applause and were a laugh all the way through. At the finish introduced some burlesques that were very funny. VAN & SCHENCK. 13 min. in one. Advance applause. Held this hard spot very well with some good songs, although not for the most part new. Piano work particularly expert and character material O. K. Finished with a good hand. FOUR BARDS. 11 min. Well known ground tumbling act making a very fine effect with their strong man stunts and getting plenty of applause for their brilliant work. Makes a very good closer. KINETOGRAPH. An exceptionally good series. GENERAL REMARKS. We advertised this as "Old Favorites' Bill" and while practically every act shown is familiar to our patrons, they are all sure-fire and seemed to please a capacity house. Possibly a little strong on singing and dancing, but as dancing seems to be the craze nowadays, probably that wont do any harm.
