R. S. Robbins WASHINGTON SHOW February 16, 1914 THE GRAZERS 9 min. F.S. Man and Woman. Instrumental and dancing act. The work doesn't provoke much enthusiasm but the man is successful with his female impersonation and on removing wig at finish gives a genuine surprise. Gets a big laugh and hand. CHRIS RICHARDS 9 min. in one. Works like a demon with his odd wit, acrobatic contortions and hat juggling compelling much laughter and applause. Scored heavily in this hard position. APDALES CIRCUS 12 min. F.S. Bears, Dogs, Monkeys and Anteater. The Anteater's presence most remarkable feature of the act. The stunts get a little applause and the comedy an occasional laugh. Act gets a fair hand at finish. DUFFY & LORENZE 19 min. 1-1/2. Pretty special set. A young couple in clever and original songs, chatter and comedy. This pair have a very pleasing personality and score heavily. THE GREEN BEETLE (A Chinese Fantasy) 31 min. F.S. Effective Special Set. Two act tabloid melodrama of the underworld. Novel, tense and tragic - admirably acted. The most remarkable sketch here this season. A big hit. INTERMISSION RAY COX 29 min. F.S. Original songs, characterizations, - laugh getters, and a big personality. closes with the aeroplane skit. Scores heavily. CHIEF CAUPALICAN 18 min. in one. Indian Garb. Semi-classical selections in robust tenor voice, interspersed with pretty good monologue. This natural showman is "putting it over" and is the applause hit of the show. LASKY'S THREE TYPES 11 min. F.S. Three beautiful women, - auburn, blonde and brunette types, posing in beautiful stereoptican pictures. This act a decided hit. PATHE WEEKLY Interesting pictures. GENERAL REMARKS Great, varied and novel show, - one that is taken home and talked about.
