142 142 BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW FEBRUARY 16 - 1914. HOPKINS & ELLIOT. Singing and talking, 15 minutes in (1). Man and woman. Fair act. Singing is passably good, but the comedy os not strong in getting a laugh. Imitations introduced by man fairly clever and is about the best bit of the entire act. Got very little applause. BESSIE AND HARRIET REMPLE & CO. Playlet entitled, "When We Grow Up" i two scenes. 25 minutes. Open in (1) special drop, close full stage. Special set. Two women, two men. Good act. Sketch is well written, and well acted. Comedy and pathos are delightfully intermingled, and there are many intensely dramatic situations. It seemed to please greatly,, yet the applause was rather light. 3 HICKORY BROTHERS. Acrobatic dancing. 7 minutes in (2). Special drop. Best comedy acrobatic and dancing act seen here for some time. One of the three is a real comedian, and his appearance on the stage is the occasion for roars of laughter. went very big. W. E. Parmenter Manager. BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW FEBRUARY 19, 1914. PEGGY DOHERTY. Singing, 11 minutes in (1). Quite a good act. Sings in a very pleasing voice, and audience was very generous in its applause. Very pleasing in appearance, and handles her songs in a manner that gets the audience. ARMSTRONG & ODELL. Singing, talking and changes. 15 minutes in (1). Man and woman. have a good act, and two fo their songs are very well done making a very substantial hit. have some fairly good comedy and seem to have the audience with them through-out. The act made a decided hit, and got big applause. Called back for an encore and this number caused great applause. The audience like it immensely. ED VINTON AND DOG BUSTER. 19 minutes C. D. F. A very good act, in fact the nest thing in the trained animal line ever seen here. The work is mostly all new, and done in a way that causes much comedy. The act went very big and got abundant applause. W. E. Parmenter Manager.
