[printed letterhead on sheet pasted in:] SCENIC TEMPLE Vaudeville and Motion Pictures EXEC OFFICE: UNION THEATRE UNION STREET PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND MAIN STREET PHONE PAWTUCKET 356 Pawtucket, R.I., [handwritten at u.r. of sheet pasted in:] 143 [stamped at u.r. of page:] 143 Report on acts playing The Scenic Temple, First three days, week of February 16, 1914. Peggy Doherty. Single woman. Works in one, 13 minutes. Sings three selections, of a classical nature, and one Irish number, "Mother Machree". She makes no changes wearing a pretty white costume throughout. Went good. Arthur and Grace Terry. Man and woman. Work in the full stage, 14 minutes. This act consists of lariat swinging, with dances of all nations done while the performers have a lariat in motion about them. The numbers are Scotch, Irish, German, as a drunken man, and ending with Texas Tommy together, within one lariat. The man gets quite a little comedy out of the act, and the finish of the act is the swinging of a 70 foot lariat by the woman, which is good. Went good at all shows. Ed. Vinton and Buster. Man and dog. The dog is very well trained, anddoes everything that the man does. The dog mimics him, even in "facial expressions." This is a wonderful dog to be sure. 15 minutes in two. A hit at all shows. Webb and Burns. Two men. Italian Minstrels, doing songs, and comedy, and talking. Their voices and their comedy are good. A hit at all shows. A pantomime of a suffragette about to retire gets many laughs. 14 to 16 minutes in street in one. Report on acts playing this theatre, week of Feb. 19, 1914. Bessie and Harriet Remple and Co. Two girls and one boy. Open in one, before own drop, for first scene, representing childhood days of the characters. Then to very pretty set in the full stage, representing the exterior of a house, arranged so that it is possible to see within the house. This second scene is supposed to take place ten years after the first scene. Act is called "When We Grow Up." Went good at all shows. 30 minutes. The Three Hickey Brothers. Three men. Two work straight and the other comedy. Songs and eccentric and acrobatic dancing also some acrobatics. Went good at all shows. Special drop in one-- 10 minutes. Gene Barron. (One man) Works 12 minutes in one. Popular and classical violin playing. Went good at all shows. Hopkins and Elliott. (Man and woman) Man and woman. Singing and talking. Woman is a good singer. 14 minutes in one. Went good at all shows.
