H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW FEB. 23, 1914. TUSCANO BROS. 8 min. A ripping good showman-like opener. The boys are very brilliant in their Roman costumes and their work with the axes was without miss or flaw. Some of their stunts were really dangerous. Excellent applause and a strong close. TIM KIRBY & LAWRENCE TWIN SISTERS. 11 min. A very good dancing act, strong enough anywhere for the upper half of the bill. The sisters are very pretty. Make two changes of costume. Kirby is a good eccentric dancer. Closed very well indeed. C. H. O'DONNELL & CO. "Flashlight Cragin." 18 min. A melodramatic sketch along the lines of plays applauded by the gallery where the detective through the love of a boy criminal's mother allows him to escape the penalty of murder. Whereas the play is rather lurid, it nevertheless is well acted and held the audience intently and received a very fair closing hand with several curtain calls. BIG CITY FOUR. 20 min. Quite popular here. Began with some of their old songs and gave some new ones. All of them went very well, "The Rosary" as usual getting a particularly strong hand. Closed to a big hand. ORFORD'S ELEPHANTS. 16 min. This educated elephant act beats anything of the kind we have ever played, being as humorous as it is clever keeping the audience in roars of laughter mingled with applause. Miss Orford is a very pretty woman, a mighty clever dancer and stunningly costumed. The little domestic drama which the elephants play with the baby elephant in the cradle and the dinner served by the smallest of the three mammoths is particularly wonderful. The spectacular finish when Miss Orford is rescued from a second story window of a burning house brings the act to a splendid close. An act that is bound to be talked about. BOBBY HEATH & FLORRIE MILLERSHIP. 25 min. Great favorites here. Received advance applause. A brilliant line of material, both Heath and Miss Millership have improved immensely since their last appearance here in other features. Every selection got an immense hand and the comedy worked the crowd up to a riot of laughter and applause. Compelled to make a little speech at the close. NINE WHITE HUSSARS. 17 min. Make a very fine appearance in their white uniforms against a dark background. Played and sang several selections, none of which were new but all of them went well. The trap drummer made a particularly strong hit with the last selection and they gave two patriotic encores. TRIXIE FRIGANZA. 24 min. To say that Miss Friganza made a hit is putting it mildly. Her burlesques were a riot of laughter and applause and her tango burlesque actually stopped the show and compelled her to give a little recitation as an encore. THE HASSMANS. 12 min. Man and boy both working straight, using a tumbling carpet and high pedestal. Excellent and finished work, each of their fine feats getting a good hand. Makes a very satisfactory closer. PATHE WEEKLY. Unusually varied and interesting. GENERAL REMARKS. The holiday crowd ate up this show right from the start this afternoon. We called it a "Prize Winner" show and it certainly lived up to its billing. It ought to draw strong. CUTS BOBBY HEATH: Suggestion of word "H---" and elimination of verse having to do with ladies wearing pants.
