Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of March 1, 1914. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. This week we have a very fine bill in contrast to the very mediocre one of last week. Practically everything on the bill scored; several making decided hits. LOCKETT & WALDRON Two young men with a new idea in a dancing act; all soft shoe dancing; some eccentric work, which got them laughs; good applause all through and very strong at the finish. Act could hold a No. 3 or 4 spot without any trouble. 9 Min. in One. TOM KYLE & CO. In a sketch called "A Doctored Widow." These people have a new idea and from the scenic standpoint, they presented it splendidly. Quite a novelty, showing first, a large ocean steamer coming head-on, and afterwards, a cabin on the steamer. The sketch itself has a number of bright lines, but it is not particularly well played; however, they got by and got a number of laughs. 15 Min. in Three. MINNIE ALLEN Miss Allen comes this season with a line of new material, much of it very novel. The whole act is decidedly entertaining and she made considerable of a hit. 16 Min. in Two. SCHOOLER & DICKINSON Young man at the piano and a girl singer. To say that these people scored a hit would be to put it most mildly. The audience were loth to let them go. 21 Min. in One. HUNTING & FRANCIS It just needed Hunting's comedy at this point and with Miss Francis's pleasing personality they managed to roll up another hit. 18 Min. in One. "WOMAN PROPOSES" This well-known sketch needs no description from me other than to say that it was another great big hit of a bill of hits. Plenty of laughs all thru and a number of real curtain calls. 30 Min. F. S. ANDREW KELLy This was a pretty tough spot for Kelly after all the successes that preceded him, but he held it down in good shape, although I hardly think that he scored the big hit that he did here last year. 13 Min. in One. BURNS & FULTON Delayed because of storm and did not appear. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
