WASHINGTON SHOW R. S. Robbins March 9, 1914. DARE BROTHERS 9 min. F.S. Hand balancers and acrobats in daring and difficult feats. Went very well. JOHN & WINNIE HENNINGS 15 min. F.S. Comedy, singing and dancing team, Mr. Hennings doing most of the work. His eccentric dancing and comedy deserved appreciation and got it in laughs and applause. DANE CLAUDIUS & LILLIAN SCARLET 14 min. in one. Special drop. "The Call Of The Sixties". These clever anjoists and their novel feature of playing songs of 50 years ago with the words being shown on curtain, scored a big hit, the audience subjectively responding to the artful suggestion, hummed and sang with great glee, giving the act an ovation at finish. HAYWARD-STAFFORD COMPANY 16 min. F.S. Man and two women in a novel sketch in rhyme called "The Devil Outwitted". Has a humorous surprise finish, good for a big laugh and hand. INTERMISSION CASTLE PICTURES 16 min. motion pictures of Mr. & Mrs. Vernon Castle in modern popular dances, including their famous "Castle Walk". This film a very pleasing and satisfactory feature of this week's bill, the pretty and difficult steps in turn drawing applause. GERTRUDE HOFFMANN & COMPANY 66 min. F.S. Miss Hoffman and her Company of thirty in her kaleidoscope revue are scoring a triumph. Miss Hoffman's versatility, her pony ballet, the whirling Arabs, the beautiful scenery and costumes, snappy music and beautiful dances are the talk of the town and drawing crowded houses. The act absolutely requires six extra operators- one for spots in front, three clearers, and nine extra stage hands- five in the flys. A total of twenty-seven hands are absolutely necessary. Room should be made in orchestra pit for five extra musicians, also room for extra drummer's outfit back of regular drummer for Miss Hoffman. A brilliant large piano in pit is important. A complete scenic rehearsal before opening very important. PATHE WEEKLY Extra good film of events. GENERAL REMARKS. A wonderful show.
