B. F. KEITH'S HIPPODROME Week of March 23, 1914 Cleveland, Ohio SPRAGUE & McNEECE - - Man and woman. Cyclorama in black 4. 12 minutes. By far as good a roller skating act, as we have ever had in the house. (Milwaukee) MARIE & BILLY HART - - Open special drop of a side show in 1, go to cyclorama in 3, close special in 1. 27 minutes. Hart is clever and has a bright and snappy line of talk as a "side show spieler". He serves as an introduction for Miss Hart, who sings, dances, does a little slack wire act, Closed pleasingly. (Toledo) LORRAINE & DUDLEY - - Man. 2 women. Special interior in 3. 15 minutes. Sketch "The Finish". A rather haphazard and disjointed farce, with a comic idea, only fairly well developed. Florence Lorraine, in her disguise of a Swedish scrubwoman in the feature. (Philadelphia) MAE WEST - - Palace in 1. 16 minutes. A comedienne who endeavors, with signal success, to blend the individual methods of Eva Tanguay and Frank Tinney. (Syracuse) BLANCHE BATES & Co of 7 - - In J. M. Barrie's admirable playlet "Half an Hour" in three special scenes. Miss Bates has surrounded herself with an excellent company and gives a splendid interpretation of the character. Her offering was well liked and should draw some business. The newspapers were very friendly and all agree that she was the one biggest bet of the season. However, as was almost inevitable in a theatre of the Hippodrome size, some of the intensity of the play was lost. Sketches of this kind call for a more intimate theatre. (Cincinnati) LYDELL, ROGERS & LYDELL - - 2 men. 1 woman. Street in 1. 15 minutes. Here is a team that is really funny, especially the one who is made up as a peevish old man. There is some excellent eccentric dancing. (Indianapolis) LEO ZARREL TRIO - - Garden in 4. 3 men. 12 minutes. An acrobatic, juggling and balancing act of merit with a pleasing finish. (Open) PATHE'S WEEKLY
