Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of April 6, 1914. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. The show played pretty well. I think some of the spots are weak but they will get over. In spite of the fact that it is Holy Week. I think that we will get some business. CHESTER KINGSTON Contortionist. This man does some very unusual work that was well appreciated. 10 Min. in Two. LOWELL & ESTHER DREW In a little skit with a couple of songs; doesn't amount to a great deal as to act or presentation; held the spot in fair shape. 14 Min. in Two. LAI MON KIM Chinese tenor. I don't think that the audience as a whole realized that he is a real Chinaman; they think he is made up; as his voice is nothing remarkable, I don't see any great value to the act. 10 Min. in 1 APDALE'S ANIMALS A good lively act of the kind that pleases the children and some of the tricks are interesting to grown ups. 15 Min. Close 5 Min. in One to accommodate us, which part of the act went as well as the remainder. REMPEL SISTERS & CO. This is quite a novelty; pretty good sketch but not well played; in the hands of good people, it should be a most desirable act; as it is, it gets by in fair shape; should be on a bill where it could be played a trifle earlier. 25 Min. Opens 5 Min. in One Closes F. S. ELSA RUEGGER Unquestionably the greatest lady 'cellist in the world. Went decidedly well and will no doubt draw many musical people. 14 Min. in One. ARTHUR SULLIVAN & CO. In a sketch called "Straight." Exceptionally good act, well played. Quite a hit. 26 Min. F. S. TRIXIE FRIGANZA In a turn of comedy songs and dances. Miss Friganza was nothing short of a riot; about the biggest hit of any single woman we ever played. I say "single woman" in spite of the fact that she has a couple of young fellow assistants in the dances, but they are merely "assistants." 25 Min. Short opening in One, the remainder of the act in Two and a very short close in One. FRED ARDATH & CO. In a conglomeration of hokum with the slap-stickiest slap-stick all of which nevertheless was one yelling riot; some of the fun with the pig would make the sourest person in the world laugh. I think it is a good act that could be played anywhere and make good 22 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
