REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW, WEEK APRIL 6,..W.W. Prosser. THE ROSAIRES: Man and woman in novelty wire act. Very good number. They introduce several clever stunts and thoroughly make good all the way through. Strong finish. Garden in 5, 8 min. (Open) EDWARD JOLLY & WINIFRED WILD: Man and woman in a singing, talking and comedy skit. Nothing particularly good about the act, and nothing especially bad. Composed of high and low spots. Lacking in newness and novelty. Did not do very well at any time, and there is no finish to speak of. Olio in 1, 20 min. (Louisville) JOSEPH COLE & GERTRUDE DEHANEY: Man and woman offering a series of the dances which have prevailed during the past season. About as good as anything we have had. All in all, very satisfactory. Plenty of life. Both make a nice appearance. Went well throughout and finished moderately strong. Wood in 5, 10 minutes. (Indianapolis) HENRY LEWIS: An original one man act. Clever monologist in a rapid fire offering of songs, dances, "gags", talk, and, in fact a conglomeration of everything. He has personality and a very excellent manner in getting his stuff over. His method of introducing various ideas is novel and away from the beaten path. Proved thoroughly acceptable from beginning to end, going well throughout and finishing strong. Special in 1, 14 min. (Indianapolis) FRANK SHERIDAN & CO.: Three men, one woman in a one-act play, "Blackmail", from the story by Richard Harding Davis. This is an A 1, dramatic offering, most capably presented. The work of the star is all that could be desired, and his support is efficient and satisfactory. There is no lack of interest. Holds attention from beginning to end. The ball is kept rolling until the climax which brought several curtains. This is as good a dramatic sketch as we have had here for a long time. Got over in great shape. Worthy of a top place on any bill. Library in 4. 20 minutes. (Syracuse) SWOR & MACK: Black-face comedians. Biggest laughing hit which has appeared here in a long. Almost every line delivered by the comedian was received with a yell. Best act they have ever presented here, and, indeed, a genuine hit. Strong finish. Street in 1, 16 min. (Cleveland) THREE IDANIAS: Five women, one man assistant. Aerial and gymnastic offering. A very good novelty number which is entertaining throughout, though nothing remarkable. Did very well for an act of this kind. Held attention and finished strong. Wood in 5, 10 min. (Toledo) MOTION PICTURE: Pathe Comedy, O.K.
