REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW WEEK APRIL 20, 1914. W.W. Prosser. THE GLAZIERS: Woman and man, impersonating woman, in a musical and dancing number. Fancy dances by the man. Piano and French horn by woman. Very good number. Held attentions throughout with a strong "Surprise" finish. Took several bows. Palace in 4, 7 minutes. (Philadelphia) LEONA STEPHENS: Young woman who offered several songs, Character and comedy. She uses motion pictures of herself in dressing room, between songs. The act caught on well. Held attention throughout and finished strong. Special in 1, 17 minutes. (Syracuse) JIMMY DUFFY & MERCEDESE LORENZE. In song and talk number, "Springtime". A very pretty act which compares very well with any of the "flirtation" offerings of the season. Good looking people, with pleasing material. Went well throughout and finished strong. Special in 1 1/2, 17 min (Indianapolis) JOSEPH HART'S "TELEPHONE TANGLE": Four women, three men. A very good satire on the telephone service. The act is a novelty and seemed to thoroughly please. Abundant comedy and a strong finish. Olio in 1, Special in 3, 16 minutes. (Cleveland) MILLER & VINCENT: Man and woman in songs and dances. The former has an unusually good voice. The later [latter] sings well enough for the purpose, and makes a good appearance. The act was a genuine success throughout. Finished very strong. Olio in 1, 12 minutes. (Indianapolis) TRAVILLA BROTHERS & SEALS: Three young men, and two seals in a novelty under-water offering. The act is away from the usual aquatic offering and did very well. Held attention throughout and a good finish. Special in 4, 7 minutes. (Louisville) LYDELL, ROGERS & LYDELL: Two men, one woman in an excellent comedy singing and talking number. Exceptionally good character old man. Went big throughout and finished strong. Olio in 1, 22 minutes. (Syracuse) PROVOST & BROWN: Two men in acrobatic and bounding table offering. Most of their comedy is superfluous, but the act, from a legitimate standpoint is decidedly good. Any number of difficult feats put over unusually well. Held attention throughout and finished strong. Garden in 4, 11 minutes. (Indianapolis) MOTION PICTURE:: O.K.
