238 BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW MONDAY APRIL 27, 1914. FLORETTE, contortionist, 7 minutes in (2). Good act, disclosing some excellent contortion feats, performed with an ease and grace of manner which quite wins the approbation of the audience. Comely and attractive in appearance, she makes a decidedly favorable impression, and the act is good to look upon. ROSS & ROSS, Comedians and dancers, 8 minutes in (1). Fairly good act, and exhibit some very clever dancing. Comedy is somewhat weak, and does not get many laughs. Audience however seems to overlook their short-comings as comedians, with its very ready recognition of their dancing abilities. Wm. A. WESTON & CO., "Atttorneys", 20 minutes full stage, 2 women, 4 men. Very good act; A decided novelty, the various musical instruments utilized are unique and novel in the extreme, and the selections rendered were of a sufficiently diversified nature as to suit the most fastidious. All in all an unusually meritorious offering, and well received by the audience. W. E. Parmenter BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW THURSDAY APRIL 30, 1914. DOROTHY WAHL: Singing Comedienne, 9 minutes in (1) Good act. Displays a pleasing voice, and manifests a most engaging personality, and, happy in the selection of songs rendered, she experiences no difficulty in interesting her auditors throughout the presentation. OWER & OWER: Comedy acrobatic, t minutes full stage. 1 lady. 1 man. Fairly good act. Exhibit some rather clever work in straight acrobatics, although the comedy element does not seem to materialize, but the audience readily condones this fault if fault it may be called, by its recognition of their more serious moments. CADETS DeGASCOGNE: Quartette Francais, 12 minutes in (1) 1 lady. 3 men. Exceptionally good act. The very quintescence of quality characterizes their offering, and they made deep and lasting inroads upon popular favor at all performances yesterday. Their selections, of a sufficiently diversified nature as to merit the approbation of the most fastidious, entitles them to recognition as being one of the best quartettes it has been our pleasure to present. The most gratifying applause rewarded their efforts, and their success is without question. W. E. Parmenter Manager
