REPORT on BOSTON SHOW for WEEK of SEPTEMBER 14th - 1914 (R. G. Larsen) PATHE WEEKLY 14 minutes in one. Customary series of news events in motion. DAINTY EMILY and INCOMPARABLE AJAX 12 minutes f.s. Special Draperies. Very good strong man act that opened the show in good shape. JOHNSON and WELLS 11 minutes in one. Olio Drop. Colored entertainers that got over big with their dancing. LAMBERTI 24 minutes f.s. Special Draperies. Doing absolutely the same act he has been doing for years, but going as big as ever. HAMILTON and BARNES 12 minutes in one. Special Drop. Man and woman with special drop showing the outside of a circus side show. Barnes works something after the style of Barnes & Crawford, and has a good line of material Went over in great shape. HAN PING CHIEN and the GREAT PEKIN MYSTERIES 26 minutes f.s. Special Set. Four Chinaman and one Chinese woman doing a line of magic not unlike Ching Ling Foo, but with an element of comedy. If Ching had not taken the edge off an act of this kind, this would be a big feature. As it is, it is a good headliner for the money, and can be played up. McWILLIAMS, STENDAL and BALDWIN 9 minutes in one. Olio Drop. Three men in dress suits. This trio went over very well. Just about value for the money. WILL M. CRESSY and BLANCHE DAYNE in "THE MAN WHO REMEMBERED" 28 minutes f.s. Special Set. This act has played here before, but it went just as big as ever to-night. Cressy got as many laughs as he ever did. NELLIE NICHOLS 15 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. One of the best single women we have had this season. With one exception her stuff is apparently original. That one exception cheapens the act at the start, and it took her some time to recover. After she got going, however, she was a hit. MADAME MARY'S BURLESQUE CIRCUS 20 minutes f.s. Special Set. A rather pretentious act but suffers somewhat from the absence of Max, who was in it originally. In fact, it is not as good an act. Proved an acceptable closer for a big show that went over in great shapw. CUTS: Hamilton & Barnes - "red necktie" gag
