REPORT from B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE - BOSTON - MASSACHUSETTS Week of SEPTEMBER 21st - 1914 (R. G. Larsen.) PATHE WEEKLY 15 minutes in one. Picture Sheet. Customary series of news events. McPHIE and HILL 10 minutes f.s. Garden. A rattling good comedy bar act that made a fine opener. HOPE VERNON 12 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. Miss Vernon sings two classical numbers, and then imitates a violin while apparently playing the instrument. Completely fooled the audience and got a big hand at the end of the imitation. Filled this spot in great shape. FIVE ANNAPOLIS BOYS 14 minutes f.s. Special cyclorama. In an operetta called "A Cruise To The Land of Harmony." Neat little singing act that went over very well. BUTLER HAVILAND and ALICE THORNTON 17 minutes in one. Special Drop. Playing their new act, "Get-Poor-Quick-Wellington." Full of bright lines and situations, and went well in this position, getting many laughs. WILL M. CRESSY and BLANCHE DAYNE 24 minutes f.s. Plain Chamber. Second week of their engagement, playing "The Village Lawyer." Scored a big laughing success, and closed very strong. LYONS and YOSCO 17 minutes in one. Street. These boys have not been seen here for some time. Scored one of the hits of the show. BERT FRENCH and ALICE EIS 10 minutes f.s. Special Set. "The Dance of the Temptress." We advertised "the mountain of soap bubbles" heavily, and when the curtain rose, the picture got a big hand. The act has been tamed down greatly since it was at Hammerstein's, and there was nothing in it to-day that could offend anyone. Held the interest, and closed well. A good novelty. NAT WILLS 28 minutes in one. Street. Got a big reception upon his entrance, and kept the audience laughing every minute. Closed very, very big. ABOU BEN HAMID'S WHIRLWIND ARABS 8 minutes f.s. Palace. A splendid acrobatic act that made a fine closer to a strong show.
